When I return back home I find Siddharth on the couch with his head in his palms. He looked stressed, but I am not gonna do anything about this, afterall he is responsible for this whole mess.

I head upstairs and decide to make a killer of a move.

Call Mukul

I know he has won, but I still have one more question.

Why?

I know he wanted the money, but there are hundreds and thousands of other, much more successful businesses in this state. Why target Siddharth?

There has always been something fishy about Mukul, I mean, he was constantly on the phone with someone and always freaked out when I overheard them.

I dial his number, hoping for an answer

"Hello? Who's this?"He asks

"It's Nisha.... I want answers. I want to know why you did all this? Why us?" I burst

Suddenly he cuts the call.

Of course he would.

This is useless.

I slump behind on the bed, wishing that this was all over. I've lost everything. And I'm not just talking about money, but about people. I have nobody.

With Aunt Aadhya here, I felt like there was somebody for me. But now that she's in India,  I have nobody. Siddharth is Siddharth and Keerthi is acting like a fool. The only one I have is Drishti. I have been bearing through all this for Drishti's sake, but it is becoming too much. Siddharth's financial loss isn't my main problem, afterall he has a father who is a literal millionaire. But it's his attitude and his foolishness that bothers me. How can someone expect me to raise a daughter with such a bipolar and inconsiderate man?

Just thenIget a message from Armit on my iphone.

"Happy New Years Eve"

I quickly send him a message back, saying "Same goes to you(heart emoji, fireworks emoji)"

Armit : Any Plans?

Nisha: No, not in the mood

Armit : Oh sure? Heard 2019 is gonna be a bang

Nisha : I hope 2019 is! Any plans yourself?

Armit : Just a New Years party at a friends place.... Want to come? (Letter emoji)

Nisha: I dont know(sad face), gotta take care of Drishti

Armit : (laughing emoji)

Nisha : (Thinking Emoji)

Armit : When I said party I didn't mean party party just a get together with some close friends. Drishti is invited (baby emoji)

Nisha : You sure?

Armit : As far as I know there are 4 other kids coming? Does that change your mind?(brain)

Nisha : I'll see. Today has been rough so (thinking emoji)(crying emoji)

Armit : Want to (phone emoji)

Nisha : You call I'm out of data

Armit : Fine (angry emoji)

After a long hour of convincing me to attend the get together I say yes. After the distressing events of today, I guess I do need some time to clear my head.

According to Armit, the party starts at 4:30, but he said he will pick me up at 4. I dress Drishti in a lehenga Aunt Aadhya bought for her and I wear a simple orange saree. Armit wasn't like Siddharth, instead he referred me wearing traditional clothes over modern outfit.
