Review:

I was literally glued to this book from the first page to the last. The story is filled with action, ominous occurrences and characters that are easily related to. This, combined with the fact that the author skillfully writes her chapters to align with the genre, is more than enough to capture and keep readers' attention.

The plot moves at a steadily fast pace and important occurrences are not stalled. This is vital in any book containing action, in order to keep readers' interest.

The settings and characters are described very well. The way in which the author describes the characters' emotional state is, amazingly, very realistic. This may lead the reader to either sympathise or empathise with the characters.

At first, the reader is given the impression that Dazaara is a confident, strong leader and a fierce, fearless warrior. Almost flawless. Untouchable. Yet, as we read on, we soon learn that behind her confidence, there is a dam of guilt and self hatred. She has fears - losing the people she cares about (i.e. her crew and her father) and never having a true purpose. She is constantly advised to let go of the past and forgive herself for her mistakes and as Dazaara goes through the unthinkable and ventures through the Sea of Bones, the readers can only hope that she heeds those words.

I absolutely love this book. Anyone who likes Fantasy, Horror, Thrillers (etc.) will enjoy this thrilling Dark Fantasy.
