Genevieve's POV

The call.

I had received it! A big music label heard my covers on YouTube and want to sign me! They want me to do a demo track first, then, we go from there.

I was currently moving to California with my Aunt. You may be wondering why with my aunt and not my parents... Well, when I was 4 my father left my mom, sister and I.

My mom? She works as hard as she can to take care of us! She works at the local hospital; She's there most days of the week, and most of the time she stays over night.

She promised to visit me atleast once every month and FaceTime me every day. She's helped me in so many ways.

Anyway, I'm already graduated. I graduated when I was 16. I was homeschooled all of my years in high school, I worked nonstop so I could graduate early and peruse my dream as a musician. Not to mention how many times I wouldn't be able to focus because so many people knew me. They'd always ask for my autograph and pictures.

I was currently packing my bags, getting ready for the busy morning tomorrow. Which consisted of waking up at 4 am to go to the airport and then a long plane ride across the country to California. My sister was even kind enough to help me pack. Although, the entire time she was nagging me about going to California and leaving her behind, but, she said she understood and managed to keep telling me just how proud she was of me. She's graduating in a couple weeks, so when she's done, she will leave to come to California with me.

Mom will be coming as well, so she can actually see the house that my aunt bought in person.

My aunt managed to find a house on the beach, causing yet another dream to come true. It was beautiful from the pictures I've seen. Once I got all my bags packed and I put them by the door, I stopped to squat down and pull out an outfit to wear tomorrow. I had already showered and was ready for bed.

Although, I wasn't going just yet, I put my outfit on the dresser which were a pair of high waisted shorts, a floral top with the word "fabulous" in gold written acrosses the top and my white studded converse. I trudged downstairs and sat down on the couch.

I was currently wearing my purple and black zebra print pajama shorts with my sweater that said "Mrs.Dallas" on the back and in the front it said "Magcon". My hair was in a messy bun and I walked around with a bare face. I left my curling wand and makeup bags out so I would be able to get ready tomorrow morning.

I was watching TV with my mom and sister. We were watching Pretty Little Liars since it's Tuesday night. I continued watching the season finale with my sister and mom.

This would be one of the last moments we spent together for a couple weeks.

**

I groaned hearing the alarm clock on my phone go off. I got up, quickly brushed my teeth, my hair, and my makeup. I got dressed and threw on my Magcon sweatershirt again. It was early December and even though this is Florida, its cold.

I walked downstairs to see my mom and sister already awake. They were talking to my aunt as they ate breakfast.

"Good morning honey!" My mom spoke, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Good morning." I replied, making my own cup.

"Why on earth are you wearing shorts in December? You're going to be freezing!" My aunt said while laughing.

"Well, it's only 50 something degrees outside, not as cold as I thought it would be, and second I've always heard it's hot on airplanes." I say half asleep.

"Okay, that first part made no sense but I'm just going to agree and I'm also agreeing to the second part as well." My Aunt chuckles. I give her a smile while I took a sip of my coffee.

I grab a plate and make myself some toast with Nutella on it.

**

Time flew by and before I knew it, my mom and sister were dropping us off at the airport saying goodbye.

"I'm going to miss my baby." She whines with tears in her eyes.

"Mom!" I groan, pulling away.

"I'm sorry." She laughs lightly.

"Flight 327 to California is now boarding." A voice speaks over the intercom. I turn to hug my mom one last time before turning to my sister and doing the same.

I gripped my suitcases in my hand before looking at my Aunt. We were soon walking to the plane, excitement pumping through my veins.

A lady takes our ticket as we board the plane, checking to see if this was the right flight.

I sit with my Aunt, putting my head phones in but not playing any music yet. She taps me causing me to pull one out and face her.

She points to a little girl that was looking over at me. I look up at her causing her to smile then wave. I waved back, returning the smile. I had a window seat, so, I asked my aunt to move her legs, so I could go say hi to the little girl. She agrees, so I stand up and take her seat. The little girl notices and her eyes brighten and her smile grows ear to ear. I smile back then walk to her, squating down next to her.

"Hello." I smiled and hugged her.

"Hi." She blushes.

"What's your name?"

"Maria." She giggles.

"Well how old are you Maria?"

"I'm 9."

"Wow, you're a big girl!!" I say and her smile grows even bigger. I didn't even think that was possible. She nods her head then taps her mom. Her mother looks at her and see's her pointing at me while giggling. Her mom gasped and smiled at me.

"Hi!" She exclaims.

"Hey." I smile at her, laughing to myself.

"My daughter Maria loves you so much you have no idea! Everywhere we go she wants us to play your music."

"Yeah?" I say and look at her. She nods her head and giggles.

"Yes." Her mother speaks and laughs.

"Well what do you say, we take a picture, and then I give your mom my number so I can babysit you sometime?" I look at her and she gasps and her eyes grow wide as she looks at her mom and nods her head up and down really fast. "Yeah? Does that sound cool?" I ask her and she nods her head. "Alright cool!!" I say and smile at her and pose for our picture. I exchange numbers and ask her mom to send that picture to me, which, she agrees. I take my seat and look out the window. The flight attendent told us to buckle our seat belts because we were taking off. I did so and I watched as everything on the ground grew smaller.

"California here I come." I say to myself, putting my headphones back in my ears.
