"In the words of Finn Collins, I kicked the hornets nest"
From my time on the ground I like to think my sense of direction has improved. I'm not saying I'd be able to turn back and know exactly where I'm going. But if they gave out awards I'd certainly get Most Improved. Thinking about how far we have trekked from camp I would say we've gone a solid mile out. Many of the delinquents I don't think quite realise the amount of danger we are in right now. Some straying off momentarily and others swinging their guns around like it's a new bag. I'd picked up my pace from the back with Bellamy and Clarke to walk beside Octavia at the front. I'm still following her lead but I'm fantastic at math. Two sets of eyes are significantly better than one.
"You know what I'm gonna do when we get to the beach?" Miller speaks aloud.
Ben is the only one to answer, "What?"
"I'm gonna go surfing."
"Shush", Jasper hushed from my other side with his rifle raised at the ready as he orders "Keep your eyes open."
Ben seems to ignore Jasper's instruction and decided instead to go on about the pale blue water that waits for him. Before I could turn around tell him to shut it Octavia's arms fly's out to halt me from moving any further forwards. A domino effect ripples through the camp behind us as others slow to a stop, wondering what the hold up is. Noticing Octavia staring off into the trees before us I follow her line of vision. Squinting I looked harder when I saw something twitch ever so slightly. Within seconds a circular blade slices inches from my face and implants itself into Ben's skull, his body instantly dropping to the dirt. "Holy shit" Heart racing from almost being decapitated, my hand unconsciously rising to touch the side of my face.
Jasper doesn't help anybody stay calm as he screams at the top of his lungs in a panic, "GROUNDERS!"
Deciding to roll with his hysteria I shout commandingly to the from of the delinquents "Everyone return to camp! Now!"
I was instantly listened to as the delinquents turn tail and sprinted the other direction. Shoving Octavia in front of me I fall into a comfortable sprint beside Jasper. As we run I glance behind me, searching for any movement that would inform me Grounders are closing in. However then is nothing, nobody following us.
