"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. Come to coffee with us." Jungkook grabbed his hand and pouted at him. Taehyung bit his lip.

"But I have homewo—"

"TAEHYUNGIE!" Tae froze. He could recognise that voice from anywhere. Jungkook snorted as Jin practically ran over to Taehyung. Did he know that Tae tried to hide from him everyday? Was it obvious?

Here was the thing. It wasn't that Tae didn't find Jin hot, because he absolutely did. Jin was the definition of worldwide handsome. (🌝)

It was just that Jin was so outgoing, and Tae was the opposite of that. Even though Jin was sweet and caring, he was still really energetic. His energy scared Tae.

"If I would've known better I would've assumed you were hiding from me." Jin said jokingly as he wrapped his arms around Tae from behind. Tae flinched.

That was the other thing. Tae did not like to be touched and Jin totally violated that. Was Tae ever going to tell him? Nope. Never in a million years.

Jimin suddenly giggled and Tae scowled at him. Sometimes his best friends were so immature.

"You two have fun." Jimin said with a wink. Tae stared in disbelief as Jimin took Jungkook's hand and walked away. They both kept turning their heads to wiggle their eyebrows at him.

Tae was humiliated. Didn't his friends know that him and Jin would never work out?

"So," Jin started as he turned Tae around and lightly pushed him up against the locker. "I have something to ask you." He paused, as if Tae would respond.

Tae just gulped.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to dinner with me tomorrow night? It's Friday and I have off from work. You don't have to of course."

Tae flushed and stared down at his feet awkwardly. He could feel his face heat up as Jin waited for him to answer. Didn't he understand that Tae didn't like to talk to people he didn't know super well? Didn't that ever occur to him during the time that he stalked the younger boy?

Ah, yes. He was younger than him. Tae was a sophomore and Jin was a senior. Which made the possibility of them dating twice as unlikely to happen. That was how it worked at their high school.

Anyway, Jin was starting to get anxious and Tae didn't know what to do. He opened his mouth and started to stutter helplessly.

"I-I...u-uh...u-um..." He whispered, his vision blurry. Jin knelt down in front of him.

"Nod your head yes or shake your head no." He instructed gently. Tae felt relief flow through him. Good. He didn't have to speak.

But now, another challenge. Should he accept the date? He thought about it for a bit, trying to be quick. If he went on a date with Jin, he would probably bore him to death. He didn't speak much and what's the fun in that? Barely any table conversation equalled falling asleep. He didn't want to do that to Jin.

He shook his head no. Jin's face fell.

"Why?" He asked softly, looking disappointed and upset. Tae felt guilty.

"U-Um..." Tae tried to find the words. "B-Boring...?" He mentally facepalmed.

"Huh? Do you mean I'm boring to you?" Tae flinched. He didn't mean that at all!

"N-No...?" Tae tried again. Jin cupped the boy's face which caused Tae to tremble and try to pry Jin's hands away.

Why do people always have to touch?
