Chapter 8: Hurt

Marinette's POV

"Oh come on Marinette! You can't stay there in your room forever just because of that guy!"

It's Alya who is knocking on my door.

Ever since that night, I never left my room. I'm not ready to leave my room and face what's happening outside, I'm not ready to go back...

I'm not ready to face my problems.

Not yet.

Once again I heard her banging the door. Geez, I feel bad for my door.

"Marinette are you listening to me?? Hear me out! I don't know what are his reasons to do that to you but I believe that he has an explanation." She yelled in case I didn't hear her.

I sighed and decided to stand up and open the door.

"An explanation?" I asked sarcastically. "If he really has an explanation, then where in the world is he and tell me his freaking explanation??"

She bit her lip and avoided my gaze.

I shut my eyes before looking at her again then hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry Alya... I shouldn't be yelling at you... I'm sorry."

She slowly wrapped her arms around me while patting my back as if she's comforting me.

Alya broke our embrace then smiled at me.

"Come on, we have plans to do!"

I frowned at her not remembering that we have things to do. "W-what plans?"

"Just trust me on this one." She said and then winked at me.

🐞🐞🐞

"Wow! So this is your plans?" I asked her while my arms crossed.

She didn't even glance at me because she is too busy with her honeypie.

Gross.

I walked away from them and sat one of the chairs that is a little far away from them.

I just don't want to hear their cheesy pick-up lines and I don't want to be a third wheel to them.

I took out my phone and opened my social account and I don't know how I ended up searching for his name in the search bar.

There's nothing.

He probably deactivated his account.

I sighed and put my phone back to my shoulder bag.

Tikki popped out of nowhere and sat on my shoulder. I noticed that she's disappearing lately.

I shrugged and looked at Tikki who is giving me a look that I don't like...

Pity.

I don't want them to give sympathy to me, because it will only make me feel that I failed to do something.

"Please don't give me that look, Tikki," I said and looked at the other way. I kind of feel guilty towards her.

I haven't done any of my duty as Ladybug. I'm still wondering why isn't Hawkmoth attacking me since I'm mentally and emotionally tired.

"I'm sorry Tikki. I'm the worst Ladybug."

"Marinette, don't say that! To be honest with you Marinette, you're one of the best Ladybugs I ever met. You're kind, sweet and smart even though you are very clumsy, you still manage to save the day. I idolize you, Marinette. It's okay to cry but don't let yourself overdo it. Move on Marinette... He's not the only guy that loves you in this world."

I somehow managed to smile at Tikki. I patted her head and smiled again.

"Thank you, Tikki..."

"I have to hide now, someone's waiting outside for you by the way!" She said then hid to my bag.

I walked outside to check who it is.

"Hey..."
