Time: Sometime before the Titan War. Both Travis and Katie are fifteen.

Katie's POV:
"What? Why? Why do I have to go on a quest with him?" I threw a glare at Travis as I questioned Chiron.
Said centaur sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I'm sorry Katie. Aphrodite specifically chose you two. She absolutely refused to work with anyone else."
I groaned and Travis grunted. "Look, Gardner girl. I don't want to go questing with you either, but we're stuck, so stop spazzing out."
I turned on him. "I am not-"
"Children, please! Calm down. Katie, Travis, I apologize but there is nothing I can do. I'm afraid the decision has been made." Chiron pleaded.
I gritted my teeth and nodded. This was going to be one long trip.
~TIME LAPSE
Travis' POV:
I can't believe I have to go on a quest with Gardner girl. I mean, she's pretty and all, but she is one crazy chick. I mean, who wouldn't want to date me?
Not that I want her to hook up with me. I don't like Katie like that!
Well, okay, maybe I do just a little bit. But it's not like it's a big crush.
It's not even a crush! Not really...
Anyway, I need to get ready for the quest. Argus will be waiting at Half-Blood Hill. And I know Strawberry Shortcake is going to kill me if I'm late.
"CONNER!" I bellowed. "I'M LEAVING NOW!"
"Geez, dude. No need to shout! I'm right beside you!"
"Oh." I blinked. "Yeah, anyway, don't plan any good pranks while I'm gone. Kay?" I said.
"Yeah, bro. I got it." he responded.
~TIME LAPSE
Katie's POV:
I adamantly refused to make any eye contact with Travis all the way into New York. We were supposed to head to Mount Olympus to get more info on our "quest" from Aphrodite.
(A/N: I'll let you in on a secret. I had no idea what to do for a quest up until now.)

"So we need to what?" Travis had an incredulous look on his face as he glared at Aphrodite.
For once, I agreed with him.
Aphrodite rolled her eyes. "I told you. I need a couple to enter in my contest! You two are absolutely perfect!"
I tried hard not to roll my eyes. "What about Percabeth?" I asked.
Aphrodite shook her head and flipped her hair. "I used them last year. Using them again, whether they are adorable or not, is tacky."
Travis and I exchanged a look. We had no choice.
"Alright..." we both conceded.
