I was a male model. So unsurprisingly, all the girls at NYU loved me. But one didn't. Annabeth Chase. And she was the total babe of the school.

Ever since the competition started as to who could get her first, I've been desperate to prove myself. I had already, but this would put me over the top. (A/N: Narcissistic much?) Anyways, ever since that failure Bryce dropped out, the competition got much more intense. Little-miss-know-it-all-Chase had guys asking her out twenty-four seven.

I was currently in Drama. I heard girls love a guy that can dance. So I learned how. And the girls are covering me like fruit flies. It was a smashing success.

Oh, where was I? I was at the NYU football game. For P.E. extra credit, everyone had to go, so the stands were filled with annoyed kids that took part in class with Mr. Jekrt.

I was part of the Choir class and was going to be singing the Falsetto part.

Oh! Say, can you see by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hailed at the Twilight's last gleaming,

Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,

O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;

Oh! Say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

There was a chorus of applause and we all bowed and went to sit in the stands.

I made sure to keep Annabeth in my sights, so she would be sure to see me too. The game started and I spotted the loser Percy Jackson sitting next to her. There were rumors that they were dating but neither confirmed or denied them and everyone was too afraid to ask. Annabeth was fierce.

The game started and ended rather quickly. Our school won. No surprise. We had a good team. And a good cheer leading squad to cheer them on. My ex, Jean, was on cheer and she was real nice and hot and all, just not so much when she caught me making eyes at Annabeth. That was not very pleasant.

Anyways, everyone went down to congratulate the team. I knew Annabeth would go, so I went.

"Good game."

"Nice job."

"I'll get you next time."

"The defense? On point."

That was the general idea of what people were saying. Tons of compliments of course. I kept my eyes primarily on her.

I walked up to her. Pity, she was still standing next to Percy. Whatever. She's mine. "What did you think?"

She stared at me confused for a second. "And you are?"

Funny. She was pretending not to know me. I like a girl with a sense of humor. "Cameron Henders. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

She smiled warmly. "Annabeth Chase."

"I know who you are, Annabeth." she eyed me suspiciously.

"I'm sorry?"

"Please. Everyone does. You're the smartest person at the school." I lowered my voice. "And a total babe, if you catch my meaning." I winked at her.

She smiled. But then she did something that truly surprised me.

She slapped me. Coming close to my ear, she said, "I'm also taken."

"Heart stolen by me?"

"You're too late."

"Please?"

She grinned. "Absolutely not."

Percy turned. He glared. "Cameron?" he asked suspiciously.

"The one and only." I responded.

I turned back to Annabeth, slinging an arm around her shoulder. "So, whatdya say we-"

I was cut off as Percy shoved me back. "Hey!"

"She's taken."

"Pfft! By who?"

"Me." he said smugly.

I looked at Annabeth who nodded.

I attempted to punch Percy, who caught my wrist and twisted it. "Good try."

I walked off whimpered.

And that's how I met Percabeth.
