"All he had to do was pull on your arm and voila, you're punching like a pro again!" Avi shoved his shoulder back and Scott rolled his eyes.
"I wasn't punching any different. Heath just made a mistake and I used it against him." Scott figured Mitch probably had something to do with his win. If it wasn't getting his arm in a good spot, it was his presence. Scott wasn't sure why, but Mitch being there made him feel like he needed to be at his very best. He made him nervous but in a good way. He wanted to impress him. Show him why and how he had a name like he did in the industry.
"In any case, Mitch is already proving to be helpful, is he not?" Avi continued wrapping up his hand. "You should tell him to come watch you train. That way he can tell you what moves he wants to see."
Scott didn't really like that idea. He already took up Mitch's time enough. "No, he has a job to do."
"Come on. If you don't, I will." Avi started reaching for his phone but Scott stopped him.
"I'll ask, but if he says no, that's it." Scott gave him a look.
"Sure."
Scott walked over to his bag and could feel Avi peering over at him. He dug around with his left hand, there was still a long piece of loose tape hanging from his right hand.
Scott Hoying: Hey. I am training from twelve to eight today if you wanted to see. The gym is at 163 N Elm st.
He locked it and turned back, continuing to wrap up his hands. He looked up when Avi still hadn't looked away. "I texted him. If he shows, cool. If not, cool."
He didn't let himself dwell and got back to work. He was training with Kevin today. Probably the hardest worker on the whole management team. He wasn't sure how much time had passed. But eventually, the door to the gym was opened and he heard soft talking. He glanced to see Esther and Mitch.
Scott could feel his adrenalin spike as he focused back on what Kevin was saying to him and kicked with a new vigor. This earned him praise. It had been a while since he had gotten actual good feedback instead of the same 'engage, Scott' he had been getting from him lately.
After an intense round of kicks, Kevin gave him a break.
Scott hopped over the ropes and grabbed his towel off the top of his bag. He wiped his face and skin before seeing Mitch sit down on the bench by the door. Esther was no longer in the room, either.
He walked over. "Hey."
"Hey. Scott. Posture looked good out there."
He dropped himself onto the floor a few feet in front of Mitch and spread his legs out. "Thanks. You didn't cancel anything, did you? I train every day so if another day would be better, I'm fine with that."
Mitch was already shaking his head before he had finished. "I have a couple of hours before I have another patient, but no. I didn't cancel anything."
"Good." He dropped his towel and leaned back on his arm. "So, what kind of things would you like to see?"
"More repetitive kicking with your legs. Let's see if I can figure out the hip pain."
Scott nodded and took a couple more minutes to relax before hopping up and swerving around. He knew it probably wasn't fair, but he wanted the gym to himself now. "Hey!"
The four other people that were in here training paused and looked up at him. He felt bad, but it had to happen.
"Get out! I'll let you know when you can come back." He pointed at the door.
