A young, and human looking Keith, sits on the couch, the news playing in the background as he read a book that was simply called 'Carry on'. He didn't really care for the news, but he'd liked to have background noise so he feels less alone until Adam gets back.

"Hey Keith" Adam says, opening the door, holding a bag that contained Chinese takeout. "I got dinner"
"Thanks" Keith called over his shoulder, not tearing his eyes from the book.

Keith turned the volume up as Adam was reaching for some plates.
"And back to you Hana" the weather man said.
"Thank you Jim" Hana, the news lady says. "For this todays news we would like to talk about..."

Keith had slightly tuned Hana out, he really didn't want to hear her, but it seems as though it wasn't even a minute until he heard something that made him slam his book shut and look up at the screen.
"I-it appears as though the brave pilots who were sent on the Kerberos mission have sadly passed away in a piloting error earlier this evening." Hana says, mournfully. "The pilots who have passed are Sam and his son Matthew Holt, as well as Takashi Shirogane."

There was silence in the house, the only sound made was that of plates falling and ultimately crashing into several pieces onto the tile floor.
"What..." Keith mutters "t-that can't..."
Keith was unable to put together a complete sentence, he was in shock.
Adam, meanwhile, has his mind in a loud and angry buzz. Some of it cursing himself out for not bothering to see Shiro off, or for getting mad at Shiro for even suggesting that he should go to space.

"That...that is complete bull sh-" Keith nearly swore until he looked over and saw how much of a mess Adam currently was in. "ADAM?!"

Keith jumped over the couch and headed over to him.
"O-oh God...Shiro.." Adam mutters through broken sobs. "I-I'm so, so sorry!"
"Adam! It's going to be alright, besides that news report was nothing more than a lie!" Keith says, standing on his tippie-toes so he could hug Adam, which was the best(only) way he knew how to make him feel better.

"Fake? Keith, I know this is a lot to process, but things happen, especially death, and-" Adam tries to say while keeping himself calm.

Keith stops hugging Adam as he backs away, careful not to step onto the shards of the broken plate.

"Adam, you honestly expect that it was really a piloting error? They are one of the best that the Galaxy Garrison has to offer. I doubt that it's a freaking error!" Keith yells, making sure to A: not go into conspiracy theory mode (and yet somehow failing a little) and B: not swear.

"Keith..." Adam sighs "I know that this is a lot to take in, but.."
"No! Shiro isn't dead! Something must've happened!" Keith says.
"Look, I know that you and Takashi were close, but you have accept that he's-" Adam got cut off when Keith turned on his heal and then ran out of the room.

"Keith?!! Wait!!" Adam yells, chasing after the mullet child.

Keith made a sharp turn into his room as he slammed the door shut. Adam was close to Keith's room when Keith blasted the song 'The Pitiful Children' loudly on his speakers. Adam backed away from the door, heaving a heavy sigh.
Just give him some time. Adam thought hopefully this would be all cleared up soon.

Inside the room, Keith laid on his back staring at the ceiling. His mind in a loud buzz. He knew that Shiro and the rest of the pilots couldn't be dead, something must've happened.

Maybe they knew too much and the Garrison hid them away? Keith theorizes or maybe they got caught by an alien race...nah Keith, that can't be, alien s? Really? There's no such thing, is there?

Time went on and on, Keith never really left his room other than for basic human needs (although he did bring some of the Chinese food that Adam got into his room, as to eat in peace). Keith was furious that Adam could believe such fake news that he refused to say anything to him for the rest of the night and the next morning...
