The DJ mixed the song from Sim Simma by beenie man to Dutty whine."This mix maddd" Melissa exclaimed and began sipping her rum as she whined.
Attitude gyal!
The song began and immediately Emerald got in her zone as her favourite song played all throughout the beach party .
"Gwannnnnnn" Melissa hyped her bestfriend as she began snapchatting her. She knew when it came to dancing, when Emerald was in her zone; you couldn't compete.
"Dutty whine my gyal dutty whine" Melissa hyped as she whined as well while she recorded.
"Bludddclart, watch di gyal de yah inna di seee thru dress, wuh yuh do?" The jamaican DJ hyped as everyone's attention now was on her. Oh now she had to turn her slow whine into something serious.
Everyone was hyping her as she tick tocked down to the ground. All movements matching the beat.
"How she bad suh!" Many exclaimed as they watched her move. Lance pushed through the crowd in curiousity to what all the commotion was about. He noticed a girl dancing and whining, going ham to the beat.
"Damn!" He said to himself as he watched her move.
"Yuh wan push people, we push back too!" An older man behind him said as he pushed him into the circle and he now was a few inches away from the unknown girl. The people continued to hype and cheer, but looked at him weird as if he was supposed to do something.
"Wuh you waiting fa?!" He heard a yell. Lance got closer and was now getting a whine from the girl. He grabbed her waist as he kept up with her movements. He was a hip hop dancer back home so he had rhythm to him.
Emerald snaked her arm around the back of Lance's neck. Crazy how they had were both reunited once again, so close to one another but actually had no clue yet.
Everyone let the couple be, as for Melissa she was somewhere whining on her own boy.
The song ended and turned to another song.
"Thanks for the dance."
A familiar voice met her ears and she instantly turned around. They both widened their eyes; realizing it was only fate that had reunited them like this again.
"Emerald?!" Lance exclaimed as he took in her look tonight. He didn't know how to feel, why had she been avoiding him, why had she been so distant out of nowhere. She had some explaining to do.
"L-Lance.." She said as she scratched her arm and sighed. She knew she owed him an explanation but she didn't feel like that right now.
"Look.. I know yuh mad wid me right now.. Mi cahnt explain.."
She sighed and looked down.
"It's a long story. Mi jus here fi good times not no explanations."
He nodded as he understood where she was coming from.
She came here to party and have a good time, not explain herself to him. He didn't know how she'd react when he'd tell her later on that he's leaving for America. Tommorow.
"Well, in that case then, may I have another dance?"
He smiled as she took his hand and they walked off to another place.
"Let's go get sum rum. I need to cool off yuh know," She said as she lead him to the bar through the crowd of dancing bodies.
They finally reached the bar and the same guy that gave Lance the flyer was there. Ready to serve the two of them.
The bartender's eyes lit up and he looked at Emerald closely.
"This de girl yuh sad bout the other day?!" He said to Lance, making him scoff in embarassment.
"Wait, yuh know each other?" Emerald asked and Lance nodded.
"If it weren't for him I wouldn't be here right now. He's the reason I'm here, he gave me flyer."
