Abbi's POV
Today is finally the day of the soccer game! This past week was the longest week of my life! I am just a ball of energy today! I couldn't be happier! We had to drive to Salt Lake City, but it is only 2 hours away, with bathroom breaks and stops. Brandon and I decided that he would drive up there, then we would switch and I would drive back.
"Oh, yeah." I started. "I forgot to ask you how you got these tickets? I mean they are very expensive!"
"Um," he said. "My dad knows some people."
"Ok." I said. I had a feeling he was lying, but I decided to deal with that later, right now I was going to enjoy this game. When we finally got to Salt Lake City, we decided to meet up with Brandon's dad and go get some dinner before the game. We ate at this really fancy restaurant. When Brandon's dad came, the waiter seated us and took our drink orders.
"So, you must be Abbi." Brandon's dad said. "I've heard a lot about you."
"Yes." I said polietly. "It's nice to finally meet you, Mr. Dixle."
"Please. Call me Joe." Joe said.
"Hey, dad." Brandon said. "How is Nicole doing?"
"Oh, she is great! Mom is up on her feet. Noah is almost always with Nicole." Joe said.
"Oh, yeah." I said. "I can't wait to meet baby Nicole."
Joe looked surprised. "You haven't brought Abbi over to see Nicole yet!" Joe questioned Brandon.
"No." Brandon said. "I was going to give Nicole some space, but I planned on letting Abbi meet her soon."
"Aww, thanks." I said. "I've seen pictures though."
"Are you excited?" Joe asked me.
"Yes. I'm so excited!" I quietly exclaimed. "I can't wait to meet Tim Howard! He was awesome in the World Cup!"
"Yeah he was." Joe agreed. "Maybe Tim will give you lessons."
"OMG! That would be great!" I said excitedly. "Do you have tickets too?" I asked.
"Yeah." Joe said.
"Cool." I said. After we were done eating, we headed to the stadium. Since we have VIP tickets, we get to be there a little bit early. I can't believe this is happening! A manager person came to escort us to our seats. We were on the side in the front row, so we had a perfect view of the game. After we claimed our seats, the manager led us to the place where the players sit to watch the game. It's like the dugout of soccer. When we got there, Tim and some other players were stretching.
"Hey," Tim said to me. Omg is he actually talking to me! Stay calm! Keep your cool! "I got word you wanted to meet me."
I looked at Brandon, then looked back at Tim. "Yeah."
"So, are you a goalie?" he asked.
"Yeah." I answered. Stupid! Say something other than yeah!
"Cool." he said. "How long have you been playing?"
"I don't know how long, but I play on The Dimer University soccer team." I said getting more comfortable talking to him.
"Oh, that's cool." he said. "Are you planning to play proffessional soccer as your career?"
"No." I answered. "I am studying to be a music teacher, but I am still going to play soccer. If I can't play soccer, I want to coach a soccer team."
