Melanie's POV
                          
Did that really just happen? Why would he want to kiss me? I'm ugly.
                          
"No you're not," Brent said. "You're beautiful."
                          
Shit. I'm doing it again. 
                          
Wait. Did Brent just call me beautiful?
                          
"Haha. Yes I did,"he said laughing
                          
Why do I keep doing that?! God I'm werid.
                          
Brent's Pov
                          
*a few minutes earlier*
                          
Mel was telling me why she cut herself so many times.
                          
I wish I could have been there to help her through this so she didn't have to do that to herself.
                          
I moved next to her to give her a hug and I was surprised when she hugged me back.
                          
When we let go, I looked into her deep blue eyes and inched toward her.
                          
She did the same thing, and we kissed.
                          
I felt something different with Melanie. Something I never felt before.
                          
I really wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend, but I don't want to rush into anything.
                          
We drove back to her house and when we got out of the car,she started talking again. She's so cute when she's confused.
                          
"So are you coming to my birthday party tonight?" she asked me.
                          
"I think so," I told her,"it depends on what my mom says."
                          
"Ok. Just text me when you know the answer," she told me. Damn she's cute.
                          
"Will do!" I said to her.
                          
I left, but not before kissing her on the cheek.
                          
I can't believe that just happened I thought to myself while I walked back to my house.
                          
Melanie's POV
                          
I can't believe that just happened I thought to myself walking inside.
                          
I ran up to my dad and hugged him as tight as I could.
                          
"Thank you so much, Daddy!" I said to him.
                          
"Anything for your special day," he said kissing my forehead.
                          
"I have to go get ready to my party," I said to him.
                          
I began to go upstairs to shower, then I remembered Brent.
                          
"Oh, Daddy, can Brent come to my party tonight, pretty please?" I asked him with the puppy-dog eyes.
                          
"Ok. But no funny business," he said in a serouis tone.
                          
"Yay! Thank you!" I said hugging him again.
                          
I ran upstairs to text Brent saying her could go.

M-Hey! I aked my dad if you could come tonight, and he said yes!
                          
B-Great! I aksed my mom if I could go. She said yes but my brother, Brice, and sister, Lexi, have to go. Is that ok?
                          
M-Of course!
                          
B-Thanks! I have to go shower! See ya soon 😍 ☺️ 😘
                          
M-Same. See ya 💜😘
                          
We stopped texting so we could shower.
                          
I know it sounds crazy, but I really want Brent to be my boyfriend. I don't want to rush into something big until we become friends.
