Willow propped her feet up in Mira's lap, chomping on some popcorn. The latter's nose was buried in her book; the next from a series she had been obsessing over.

"Dude, have you seen Mick lately? He looks even cuter with that new haircut!"

As the blonde gushed over him, Mira's shoulders tensed up and she slowly put down her book. A sad smile curved her lips as she stared at the page she was on.

It was like some situation in a teen movie.

Her best friend liked the guy she liked too. And of course, the right thing to do was sacrifice.

Willow didn't know and she didn't need to know. She had a history of either taking her crushes away from her or putting them down so she would like them less.

"Yeah, he is kinda cute," Mira said, softly.

Willow raised a challenging eyebrow. One that held a question she really didn't want a truthful answer to.

"Do you like him or something?"

"He's cute, but we're not compatible," she rushed out, telling her the truth. "I don't think I'm his type, to be honest."

"Right?" she exclaimed, her green eyes wide.

She ran a delicate hand through her pixie bob. "I was kinda scared you were gonna say you liked him or something. But thank god you said that before I did!"

Seeing Mira's hurt expression, her eyes widened.

"I mean, not that you're not gorgeous, babe! I'm just showing some tough love with you. Like, Mick's your typical white boy so I just figured his type would be different, you know?"

Mira really didn't know but she never really questioned Willow.

She was her only friend and what she said was always written off as right. However, Mira did always speak out whenever she would do something wrong. Like cheat on her boyfriends or indulge in drugs but it didn't mean Willow listened.

"But I don't know, lately we've been flirting with each other and I don't know where it's going. I don't know if I want something serious with him. But I do know I want him."

Mira sighed, suddenly uncomfortable about the topic.

Willow's phone dinged at that moment. When she glanced down at her screen, she sat up, removing her legs away from Mira's lap.

Mira watched as her green eyes scanned whatever was on the brightly lit screen. In the next second, Willow chucked her phone on the sofa, screaming in delight.

Mira jumped, her dark eyes wide with fear.

"W-what's happened?! Is everything okay?"

"Yes, oh my god, everything's great!"

"Why, what is it?" Mira asked, heart still racing due to the sudden scream and because of curiosity.

Willow's eyes were practically sparkling with joy as she looked at her. She grabbed Mira's shoulders and leaned in with a grin.

"Guess who texted me?"

Mira shrugged, face pinched together with confusion. Willow rocked her shoulders back and forth vigorously.

"Mick just texted me, asking if I wanted to go out on a date!" she squealed.

It was as if someone had squeezed Mira's heart and refused to let go.
