•CHAPTER SIX•

"What the hell do you mean? I can't go with you!"

Hades walks in front of me, his long strides making it hard to catch up.

"I've already made my decision. We will be leaving tonight." His voice is full of annoyance, and grew deeper as he finished speaking.

I should've stopped being so persistent about going back home. But I had school to finish. I loved everyone here, including those who treated me with the utmost respect and love. Ones that took me in when I was alone.

"You can't make me. I won't go with you." I cross my arms stubbornly, pausing in place.

He whips around, his eyes alight. "You will come with me tonight, Samira. The Underworld has been a little dull with all the dead. We need fresh meat, I suppose." He shrugs, amusement dancing in his eyes.

I feel my eyes widen slightly and I gulp, taking a step back. "Get some other fresh meat then. You don't need me." I continue to walk backwards slowly.

He chuckles, taking slow steps towards me. "Oh, but I do. There's something...." he pauses, and then in a blink of an eye, he's standing right in front of me. He grabs me gently, his head dipping lower. I gasp when I feel his lips brush my neck softly, then something wet slides against the soft skin.

Oh god. He was trying to seduce me.

"...different about how you taste. Your smell, your virgin soul. It's delightful." He murmurs, his lips moving against my skin.

I shudder, my body reacting to the feel of him. He chuckles, and that snaps me out of my vivid imaginations.

I step back, pushing him away. "There are plenty other virgins, you sicko."

He stumbles back, his eyes cloudy and dazed. "Mm..." he smirks, looking at me intently.

"What?" I snap, narrowing my eyes at him.

He lifts one shoulder, sticking his hands into his pockets. "Just thinking of all the things I can't wait to do to you." His tongue runs over his bottom lip slowly.

My jaw drops and he sighs, turning to walk again. I stand there, shocked as shit.

"Are you coming? I don't have all day."

I glare daggers into his back before following.

A few hours later, I walk up the cobbled sidewalk to my house. To my surprise, I see Jacob sitting on the steps, his head in his hands.

I walk up to him hesitantly, a bundle of emotions flaring inside me. "Jacob."

His head jerks up quickly, and I'm taken aback by his appearance. His eyes had dark bags under them, and his usually tan complexion was paler. He had scruff forming along his jaw, and his bright, brown eyes I had gotten used to were now dull and bleak.

"Sami?" He stands up, his voice coming out breathless.

How long had I been gone?
