After falling down a flight of stairs and receiving a near-fatal head injury, Dan wakes up in hospital having completely lost his vision.

"Aw, this bed is pink! It's so cute!"
Dan laughed as he made his way up to Arin.
"All you've picked out are pink things. Just because she's a girl doesn't mean it has to be pink. Stereotypes, Arin," he said.
"But she's called Kirby! Kirby is pink!" Arin pointed out, set on his choice.
Dan shook his head; he couldn't argue with that. And even if he could, he had a feeling that Arin wasn't going to give up easy. He couldn't even say that he didn't like it, what with his not being able to see it. And so he agreed to get it, along with all the other items that Arin had excitedly picked out.
It's like shopping with a toddler in the toys isle.
Of course Dan wasn't surprised when Arin offered to pay, but he put his foot down on this one. It was going to be his dog, he couldn't expect Arin to buy this stuff, especially not after all that he'd done for him. His company and support alone was enough.
Arin carrying most of the stuff since Dan needed to hold his cane, they made their way back out to the car. They put it all in and got into the car, pulling away to head back to Dan's place.
When they got back it was quite late in the afternoon, since the meeting had been fairly late as well. Not to mention the time it took to get there and back.
"Do you want me to help you find a place to put everything?" Arin offered.
"Don't you have to get home to Suzy?" Dan asked.
"I can always text her," Arin assured him as he helped carry the stuff inside.
"Well, okay, thanks."
The front door was locked, so Barry was still out. Dan unlocked it and let them inside, telling Arin to just put the stuff down on the couch for now. He did as he was told before coming back over to Dan and scooping him up in his arms without warning. Dan yelped in surprise, then beginning to laugh.
"This is the second time in the past few days you've picked me up like this. Please don't tell me this is going to become a regular thing," he said between giggles.
Arin placed him down again, though he still kept his arms wrapped around Dan. He leaned in and gave him a passionate kiss, confusing Dan further as to where this was all coming from. He asked as much when Arin finally let him breathe again.
"I don't know, I just... I wanna let you know how much I love you," was his explanation.
Dan narrowed his eyes, smiling.
"Are you sure you're not just jealous of Kirby and trying to prove yourself to me?" he teased, "She's not gonna replace you, y'know."
