Artemis Queen hummed as she plucked out her outfit for the day. Simple was on her mind. Nice, black pencil skirt with a cream blouse with a black blazer over the blouse. Small green heels, green earrings and a large silver and emerald necklace allowed contrast and broke the plain colors. She completed her makeup and slid the disguise in place then admired the simple yet elegant look. It was nice and charming. She plucked a hat off the nightstand and tucked her wig hair away.
To finish everything off, Artemis strapped her trusty .45 1911 to her thigh and four sleek knives to her other leg. She twisted her wig up into a French twist, holding it in place with elegantly designed blades that could double as lock picks. She plucked her phone and wallet off the nightstand as well as a bag containing some spare clothes and then headed out of her old room. She continued to hum a cheery tune as she jogged down the stairs with a small pep in her step.
Today would be a good day. Artemis decided with a grin. She peered around trying to spot any member of her family but to no avail. Today might be a good day. She would also need to assign Chris to watch over Amy and needed to check in on her assistant.
"Are you looking for your family, Miss Queen?"
Artemis turned to a maid. "Yeah, I am." She answered with a light hum.
"They all left for the day." She answered.
"Oh." Artemis answered with a frown. "Thank you." She had a rough idea about where Oliver would be headed next. So, she could meet up with him and Tommy.
The maid smiled and moved away while muttering something under her breath. Artemis frowned, sharp annoyance prickled through her at the slanderous words that slipped past the maid's lips. "I chose to be the 'black sheep' of this family, That's not something to be ashamed of. I chose to forge my own path." Artemis growled out with a heavy green glare. The maid startled, not expecting Artemis to know her mother language. "Y'know if you worked at my manor in Gotham, you'd be fired on spot for those words but I think my mother would forgive that, easily. However, if I pulled a handful of strings... You would be lucky to even land a job flipping burgers. Do you understand?" Artemis said with a sharp bite to her words like a heavy blade that was raised high to land a finishing blow.
The maid nodded, quickly and fled from the main foyer. Artemis watched her go with a satisfied smirk and exited the house. A sleek black car waited for her in the main driveway, a driver stood outside. "Hello, do you mind driving me to the rental car agency?"
"Of course, Miss Queen." He answered with a polite nod. "I could drive you to wherever you desire. Your step-father assigned me to be your driver."
"Thank you and tell Walter, thank you for me." Artemis said and smiled as he opened the door for her. She slipped in and looked up to the rather cute driver. "But that won't be necessary. I can drive myself, I'm no damsel and I'm not helpless. I would drive myself if I had the car to do so." Having drivers in Gotham had a purpose. Artemis liked to review files, make calls and work during the drives. This was technically, a vacation.
"I'm glad to hear that, miss Queen." He smiled back and shut the door, leaving Artemis in the cool darkness.
Artemis settled into the soft leather and pulled her phone out. A thought had been on her mind since last night. Not just the cameras but expanding operations. It was a thought as of now but a viable thought. She could expand Olympus Tech to Starling City and grow her business. She need to do the leg work but that was possible. Especially, if Amelia would be willing to take a leadership role in Gotham.
Artemis pursed her lips and started to research until her phone chimed with a text message. A simple question, a location and name.
Coffee?
