Una sat in front of her mirror as she brushed her hair. She put it in a loose braid as she readied for her date with Laslow. She heard a knock on the door and sighed softly. She hoped it was Laslow, but it was a bit early. She opened it and came face to face with King Garron.

"Father, " She said with a small curtsy "What brings you to my quarters? "
"I wanted to invite you to dinner tomorrow, Una." He said.
She nodded, "I'll be there."
" You look dressed up, where are you headed to so late? " He asked.
"I have a date tonight." She blushed slightly.
He nodded, "Who?"
"Prince Xander's retainer, Laslow. "

He nodded and left. The interaction seemed to end quite abruptly to her and left her with a slightly uneasy feeling. She stood for a few seconds. She could have sworn he had a strange aura, it seemed like something sinister almost evil. She stood there for a few moments longer before Laslow approached her.

"Are you alright?" He asked.
She nodded," Yeah. "
He nodded and offered his arm, "Ready?"
She nodded, "Have you noticed anything strange about Father?"
He paused as they walked, "Yes, he seems very distant from his children and a bit awkward."
"I see."
" Don't fret, Love. " He said softly and presented her with a flower, "There's no reason to when you pretty enough to be a god."
She blushed and chuckled, "Right."

He laughed a little and kissed her cheek as they entered the town. Soon enough they found themselves at a lovely tavern. They talked about many things before taking to the dance floor. They talked about weapons, family, and many others as the sun was beginning to set. He offered his hand inviting her to dance, and she accepted. He placed his hand in the small of her back and held her other, while she rested her arm on his shoulder.

"Sorry, if I'm clumsy." She said, "I don't generally dance with a partner."
He smiled, " No worries, I'll lead. "
She nodded and they danced for a few minutes in silence as she concentrated on not stepping on him.
"I met Prince Leo yesterday." She said.
" Really? I assume in the library. " He chuckled.
She nodded, "We're reading a book together."
" Together? That's unusual, he doesn't usually take well to women or anyone really. "
"Is that so? I can see why, but that's too bad for him."
She was quiet for a moment and he admired the thoughtful look on her face.
"Do you get along well with him?"
She smiled, "He was a little difficult at first, but he's so interesting. I enjoy his company."
" Well, that's good. "

She realized quickly what she was saying and was afraid it might make Laslow insecure. She looked at him and bit her lip slightly as he was staring above her head. He looked down at her and have a confident smile.

"How are things going with your liege?"
" Lord Xander has been hard to locate. He's been spending a lot of time in town. And if I can't find him, I can't do my job. "
"Sounds frustrating."

He laughed a little and she admired his smile. She rested her head gently against his cheek. He pulled her closer to him and she could feel the eyes of the jealous women on them.

"I feel very lucky." She said softly.
"How come? "

"I know you're a flirtatious person, and I'm glad you chose me."

" My endeavors are less successful than you think. "
She laughed softly, "Doesn't mean I'm not lucky."
He smiled, "We should do this again tomorrow."
"I can't I have dinner with my father. "
He sighed, "Too bad. I hate to say it but we should get going before it gets too late."
" What's wrong? " She teased, "You don't want to be my knight in shining armor?"
He gave a very genuine smile and a small wink, "What can I say? I'm a lover, not a fighter."
She laughed, "Alright, let's go."
