58. New Years

                                    

                                          
"Beautiful," Sebastian said as I joined the rest of them and I gave him a look as if he was crazy. I was just in one of my brother's old coats that was too small for him along with jeans and beanie. It's literally nothing special, especially compared to what all of the other girls were wearing. 
                          
"Decent at best," I replied before kissing his cheek and then walking over to the girls and hugging them all. I don't know what it is about New Years, but I always feel down. It might because it almost feels like the death of a whole year of my life, but then again that could also just be me being dramatic.  Either way I was hoping tonight would change my view point on New Years Eve. 
                          
"Let's get going then," Tom said coming and taking a hold of Maddie's hand before leading us outside. I started off walking next to Noah and holding his hand as Dottie held his other hand, but shortly after I was pulled back by Raven. 
                          
"What's up with you? Why aren't you walking with Sebastian? I mean look at him he looks so alone and lost back there," she said causing me to glance behind us to find him on his phone anyways.
                          
"I don't know. It's just weird being in a relationship on New Years and I did tell him I love him so early in the relationship and now I'm not so sure if that was the best move. He acts like it's fine that I did, but what if it wasn't? I mean I could've fucked us over in the long run." I rambled on and I heard Harrison laugh which earned him a glare from me. "Glad my pain amuses you," 
                          
"It's not that. It's just we all can see that he's head over heels for you even if he doesn't realize it yet himself," Harrison said to me. 
                          
"You should've seen him when he first got to the hospital after your accident. He looked like absolute shit, but that's only because he didn't sleep because he was worried about you and he needed to get here as fast as possible. You might have been the first one to say it, but I think he was the first one to feel it," Raven said to me, "Now, go get him," she said pushing me back a little and I stood there waiting on Sebastian to get to where I was. 
                          
"And here I was thinking that I would spend New Years alone," he said smiling down at me as he slid his phone into his pocket as we began to walk next to each other. 
                          
"Someone told me you had a girlfriend. I didn't want to piss her off," I said with a wink and he laughed before taking my left hand and then bringing it around so he arm was also around my shoulder as we held hands. 
                          
"I'm sure she'd be fine with this." he said and we continued walking at our own pace a little distance away from the others. "What's really going on, Tinks?"
                          
"I don't know. Just every New Years Eve I feel a little down. I know it's supposed to represent a new year that's supposed to give us a new start, but what if I don't want a new start? What if I'm happy with how this year went?" 
                          
"Then you don't have to restart. No matter what I'm going to be here with you, this new year is the year of us," he said before kissing me and I laughed.

"10!" the crowd shouted as the ball began to drop. 
                          
"9!" they shouted as I looked up and over at Sebastian who's arms were around my waist. He was smiling with delight as the watched the ball make it's decent down. 
                          
"8!" he said as I felt the vibration of his voice and I knew that I never wanted to not feel that. I never wanted to be without him again. 
                          
"7!" he said before looking down at me with questioning eyebrow. 
                          
"6!" he said at a lower volume than before. 
                          
"5." I whispered. 
                          
"4." "Ready to start our new year," Sebastian whispered as I turned around so I was facing him instead of the ball. 
                          
"3." "Always," I responded before he moved me to his side so that we could both watch the ball drop.
                          
"2." We both said as I looked around at our other friends we were about to have their first New Year's kiss as a couple.
                          
"1!" the crowd shouted and the ball dropped, music played, and confetti came raining down. I looked up and around in wonderment like a child in a candy store left alone. 
                          
"Happy New Year, Tinkerbell." Sebastian said before leaning down and kissing me. This is going to be so cliche to say, but this could easily be labeled as the best kiss I've ever had in my life. When we pulled apart all of our friends were looking at us and let out a cheer while clapping for us which instantly embarrassed me and caused me to burrow into Sebastian as best as I could. 
                          
"So now what?" Noah asked as we stood around. 
                          
"Well, my mom did invite us all over. It's typical for Romanian's to go until the sun comes up if that's okay with you guys," Sebastian said and I was all in. I love his parents they're so welcoming and honest relationship goals. 
                          
"Sure, why not? They're going to be my in-laws one day after all," Noah said to me with a wink.
                          
"The first of many holidays you'll be spending with them," Sebastian said before kissing the top of my head. 
                          
"Alright then, let's go," Dottie said. This time though as we walked Sebastian gave me a piggy back ride and spun around a lot. When we finally got back to his place we all loaded into the eight seater car that Sebastian rented for while we were all here. He got in the driver's seat while I sat in the passenger's seat. Once he had started the drive to his parents' house I rested my head on his shoulder as he held onto my hand as well. The radio was playing lowly and everyone in the back were having their own separate conversations. 
                          
"I love you," Sebastian said quietly. In fact he said it so quiet that I almost didn't hear him. It took me a minute to process what he had said and I just looked up at him and it wasn't until he got to a red light that he looked down at me. "I mean it. I do love you. I love you so much Wendy Bronwyn Centineo," he said looking me in my eyes. 
                          
"I love you too, Sebastian," I replied before giving him a quick kiss so he could turn his focus back to the road.
