The next morning, Poppy woke up to an empty bed beside her. Confused, she got up and went down to the common room. She was greeted with Ellie and Harry in pyjamas eating Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. She chuckled to herself as Ellie scrunched up her nose saying 'Ear wax.'
"Oh, hi, Poppy." Harry said as he noticed the girl.
"Hey." She said, coming down the stairs and sitting beside Ellie.
"Harry can't go to Hogsmeade, so shall we stay with him? I know we were gonna sneak out but we might as well keep him company." Ellie suggested, and Poppy shrugged in agreement. For hours, the three sat laughing and lounging around in their pyjamas, until Harry got up.
"I'm gonna get dressed, I need to talk to Professor Lupin." He said. The girls nodded, Poppy wincing slightly at the mention of Lupin. The girls spent the whole day perfecting their plan to prank Draco, as the twins were in Hogsmeade getting everything they needed."Guys! We've got everything!" George whisper-shouted into the common room.
"So, the plan is to give Draco the worst afternoon of his life." Poppy said evilly. "Ellie, here's the SlapStick." Grinning, Ellie took the small lipstick and carefully applied it.
"Damn, that shade suits you." Poppy said, causing Ellie to smirk and flip her hair. Fred blatantly stared at her.
"Focus, Freddie, come on." Ellie said coolly. "Let's go."Ellie took her position sitting 'alone' in the library, the twins under Harry's invisibility cloak. Poppy was waiting elsewhere for her part. The girl looked sad, and she sniffed occasionally to give a convincing performance. As if on cue, the one and only Malfoy walked in. He stopped as he saw the distraught girl, not quite sure what to do.
"Uh... are you alright, Ellie?" He asked. Ellie didn't look up, but nodded with her head down. Draco sat beside her.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it." She said shakily.
"That's fine. I know we don't necessarily like eachother, but it's weird when you're sad, because you're not having a go at me. So, I'm here if you need me." He said uncomfortably.
"Thanks." She replied. She pulled Draco into a hug.
"It's okay." He said, and Ellie kissed him on the cheek. Poor Draco.
"Bet you wish you were Draco, eh, Freddie?" Ellie called. Draco pulled away, confused.
"What?" Then, the twins burst out laughing, coming out from under the invisibility cloak. And then, beautiful pus-filled spots appeared all over his face, thanks to the SlapStick. Draco made a few displeased noises, before yelling, "My father will hear about this!" and storming out of the room. Then, the three heard roars of laughter coming from outside the library.
"Come on!" Fred whispered, all three of them slipping underneath the cloak and following Draco. They knew where he'd go; whenever he was irrationally angry, he'd always pace outside the Slytherin common room, and that was exactly where Poppy stood, ready to strike.Over at the Slytherin common room, Draco stopped as he saw Poppy stood alone outside holding a glass bottle of pumpkin juice.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, coldly.
"What's it to you? Why are you mad at me? I haven't yelled at you in ages!" Poppy exclaimed.
"Because you did this to me!" He yelled, gesturing to the gorgeous warts all over his face.
"That was not me. I fell out with them, their pranks are getting out of hand." She said.
"Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know." Draco said, softening a bit.
"Whatever." Poppy shrugged. "Want a sip?" She asked, holding the bottle out to Draco. He shrugged, taking the bottle and taking a large gulp. Poppy took action and jumped out of the way as Draco's projectile vomit just missed her. Puking Pastilles. She ran off and joined the others under the cloak, watching the rest of the scene. And just as they thought it couldn't get any better, Professor Snape turned the corner to the common room.
"Excuse me, Malfoy." He said, and Malfoy turned, blatantly holding in another vomiting frenzy. "I want to speak to you abo-"And Snape was cut off by vomit all over his robes. Brilliant.
