Suddenly, an unknown hand grasped my wrist and took me quickly to the side of the busy road. I left their grasp to run back towards the street, but the same hands held me back. After a second of deliberation in my head, I immediately found my way to the ground.

"Hey. Are you alright? Why would you do that?" asked a mysterious voice. Hundreds of questions spilled out of the mouth who had just saved me from death. But I didn't answer. I continued to cry only thinking of the reasons that had led me to stop in the middle of the road. Time and time again I try to end my pain, but no one will let me be truly happy. A familiar set of hands helped my to my feet. I brought my head up to see an ocean blue pair of eyes starting into mine. Brown hair lied next to them, it being purposely swept to the side. He wore a salmon-colored shirt which you could see peaking out from underneath his black sweatshirt that read the words Lil Peep. I knew he was talking because I saw his lips moving, but I didn't hear a single word he said. I wanted to cry again, but no tears would fall.

"Are you alright?" I finally heard. I think the set of pale blue eyes felt my pain because five seconds later, I was in his arms. I breathed in the scent of his cologne as I accepted his hug and squeezed him back.

My mind couldn't create any big sentences, so all I said was, "I'm Ainsley."

"Well, I'm Colby," the mysterious voice light-heartedly replied.

Why did you do that?" I asked genuinely.

"Do what?" he chuckled sarcastically. "Kill yourself? Why would you even ask that? I don't want you to kill yourself."

"I wish you didn't do that," I mumbled, right after letting Colby go.

He ignored my comment and questioned me, "Do you need to go anywhere? Home? Or somewhere else? Because I sure as hell am not going to leave you alone."

"No," I snapped. Suddenly, reality came back and hit me like a truck. "There's no where for me anymore. I never want to see those people again in my life." I was one hundred percent sure I was done seeing those narcissistic, hypocritical, sad excuses for parents.

Without knowing who the hell I saw talking about, he decided not to push it. "Then come with me. Come back to my house and stay there as long as you'd need." I put my head back down to look at my dirty, used, old checkered black and white Vans, but he brought it back up with two fingers.

"Sure," I finally agreed with a fake smile, knowing he wasn't going to let it go. Colby felt that I wasn't going to walk without being a little pushed, so he held out his hand. I cautiously accepted as he began leading me towards his car.
