Lloyd yawned as he woke to his alarm clock. He groaned as he grabbed his clothes. He then realized something. He was REALLY itchy. His chest, back. His whole torso felt like he had been bitten by a bunch of mosquitoes. He ripped off his shirt and gasped. His entire torso was covered in black scales! The six year old wanted to scream, but no words came out. Koko realized Lloyd hadn't come out of his room. "He must have slept through his alarm.", she groaned as she knocked. No response. She opened the door and gasped. There stood Lloyd, his small torso covered in black scales. Koko ran and hugged her son, questioning him, asking if he was okay. Lloyd only nodded as he buried his face in his arm. Koko picked him up and grabbed her cell phone. As she held him in her arms, she called the doctor to schedule an appointment. Lloyd grabbed a t shirt as his mom grabbed her purse and keys. She picked up her son, who was still very scared. Lloyd never liked the doctor, but he knew this was MUCH worse.
The doctor smiled as he entered. He stared into Lloyd's eyes, which were not hidden since Lloyd hadn't put in his contact lenses. The doctor turned to Koko. "Tell me, what seems to be the problem?" Koko lifted Lloyd's shirt, exposing his new scales. The doctor was surprised, but didn't show it as he started questioning.
Lloyd sat silently in the car, ignoring how much his torso itched. Koko sighed. The doctor couldn't help. He said this might be part of Lloyd getting older, since his father was Garmadon. Koko slowly parked the car and grabbed her son out of the car. Lloyd hid his sadness with one of his fake smiles. He had a lot of practice faking his happiness. Koko kissed his forehead as the entered the apartment. Lloyd couldn't look his mom in the eyes. She was so sad, because of him. Because he wasn't normal, because he was a freak.
That night, the nightmares started.
Lloyd walked down a hallway. As he walked, the area turned into a dark corridor, lined with torches that were lit by purple flames. As Lloyd neared the end, he saw something. A shadow. A shadow with four arms. Lloyd ran to it, so he could find a person. He realized the shadow did the same. Lloyd moved his arms, causing the shadow to move as well. Lloyd's eyes filled with horror as he realized what it was. His shadow! Lloyd heard a voice in his ear. A demonic voice. His father's voice. "See, you're just like me!" Lloyd was filled with terror as he ran. He ended up in a mirror room. He looked around and caught his reflection. It was him, but it wasn't at the same time. The reflection had black scales, sharp teeth, four arms and evil, red eyes. Lloyd looked down at his hands. Black scales. He felt tears in his eyes as he realized what it was. He was becoming his father!Lloyd screamed as he shot awake. Somehow, Koko didn't wake. Lloyd inspected himself. Two arms, human skin, well. Mostly. He ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. It was just him. Not Garmadon. Him. Lloyd sighed in relief. Just a dream. He would never be like his father. I mean, not much. It was over, he wouldn't gain anything else from his dad. Lloyd had no idea this was just the beginning!
