“Dude why you on the ground?” he asked his brother, watching out of the corner of his eye as Isaac drove away. Cosmo gave some sort of muffled explanation aimed mostly into the grass. Jared rolled him over with his foot.
“Mum locked me out,” his brother mumbled mournfully.
“What the fuck?”
“I had this song stuck in my head and I kept singing it, and Mum’s home with the flu today remember, so she was there and she really didn’t like the song. But I mean, bro, it was stuck in my head so even though I tried to stop singing it-”
“So she locked you out? Cos you kept singing a song she didn’t like?”
“Yep.”
Cosmo looked resigned. There was a moment where they just stared at each other, and then Jared reached out a hand and pulled Cosmo up to lead him inside.
“What was the song?” he asked as he turned his key in the door. Cosmo made a face.
“Money, Money, Money?” he answered, and Jared rolled his eyes with a stoic laugh.
“Oh my God Cos. No wonder she kicked you out.”
