                      Leon's POV

I'm pulled from my thoughts when one of the cops speak to me. "Yo, who are you really? Come on and tell us. You are a long way from home, cowboy. You have my sympathies."

I scoff, glancing at him before looking back out the window. "Guess that's a locals way of breaking the ice. Anyway, you know what this is about. My assignment is to search for the President's missing daughter."

The other officer chuckles. "What, all by yourself?"

I roll my eyes, a slight shake of my head. "I'm sure you boys didn't just tag along so we could sing Kumbiyah together at some Boy Scout bonfire. Then again, maybe you did."

The officer that started the conversation, scoffs. "Oh, you crazy American. It's a direct order from the chief himself. I tell you it's no picnic."

"I'm counting on you guys." I look at them before looking back out the window as the second officer gets out to do his business. After he's done, he apologizes for taking too long and the bumpy ride begins again.

We stop after getting across a bridge. The first cop points to the path. "Just up ahead is the village."

I look at the path. "I'll go and have a look around."

The other one speaks up. "We'll stay and watch the car. Don't want to get any parking tickets."

I roll my eyes. "Right... Parking tickets."

     "Good luck."

I get out of the car, whispering to myself. "Geez, who are these guys?"

I wave the cop off when he rolls down his window and asks if I said something. I answer my radio when I get a call, the image of a woman with brown hair pulled back and glasses appears on the screen.

"Leon, I hope you can hear me. I'm Ingrid Hunnigan. I'll be your support on this mission."

"Loud and clear. Somehow I thought you'd be a little older." She adjusts her glasses, clearly unamused so I continue to speak. "So the subject's name's Ashley Graham, right?"

"That's right. She's the daughter of the President. So try and behave yourself, okay?"

I scoff. "Whoever this group is, they sure picked the wrong girl to kidnap."

"I'll try to find more information on them from my end as well."

"Good. Talk to you later. Leon out." I put my radio away, pull my gun out and look around. I follow the path up to a house with the door wide open.

I walk inside, looking around. I wander farther into the house. I notice a man tending to a fire in his fireplace and I holster my gun. "Uh, excuse me. Sir?"

I pull out a photo of Ashley when the man turns towards me. "I was wondering if you might recognize the girl in this photograph?"

He angrily replies something in a foreign language before turning back to his fireplace.

"Sorry to have bothered you." I put the photo away, before quickly reacting as the man picks up an axe. I roll out of the way when he swings at me.

I pull my gun out and aim it at him as he gets closer. "Freeze! I said freeze!" I shoot him down before his next swing gets me.

I shake my head before running to the window when I hear a truck start up. I look out through the blinds just in time to see the truck heading fast to the parked cop car. I hear shouting and gunfire before a loud crash. I hear loud splashing after the crash.
