Review:
The first chapter almost had me in tears and the last part I read is keeping me in terrible suspense. The plot is written at a good pace and all the twists fit in perfectly to add action and suspense to the story.
Language is used beautifully to create vivid images of the settings and characters.
I feel that Taiyana's character has grown a lot throughout the book. From being a timid, scared, submissive slave to becoming more and more fearless and independent as a person, she shows a great deal of strength in her mentality. Her fear of Aleric changing into someone like Daniel, is plausible and shows the damage that four years of suffering under the hands of men has done. In my opinion, it is highly improbable that Taiyana will overcome this fear, even if she has the set of mind to ignore or face it by giving Aleric a chance.
Aleric is a versatile character. His compassion, loyalty and understanding makes him someone you could easily get along with. His admirable determination is proven by the fact that he had not given up on taming Yargon after receiving his scar and also how he keeps going during the quest, never once giving a thought to giving up.
This book is written very well. It was extremely pleasurable to read and I would love to finish reading!
