It was October 31st, 1993, and the Winchester boys were in Salem, Massachusetts. They have been there for the past two weeks. Since two days ago, John had been in a town three miles away hunting a ghost. Right now, Sam and Dean were at school. During class, they learned about a local legend. The legend was about three witches called the Sanderson Sisters, who attempted to steal the lives of children in Salem. They were killed three-hundred years ago; but before they died they casted a spell that would allow them to return from the dead, if a virgin lit the black flame candle on Halloween night. Dean was sitting in his high school class listening closely to the teacher tell the story about the witches. There was this older kid who was a skeptic in his class. He was also the new kid; Max Dennison.
Class ended after Max gave a cute girl, named Allison, his phone number. Dean was a little jealous, he liked the girl too; he didn't care that she was two years older. With school out, Dean makes his way to the elementary school to get his younger brother, Sam. The kids at this school had their costumes on, all except Sam. When Dean got there, Sam was talking to a little girl dressed as a witch. Dean waves Sam over. "Bye, Dani." Sam said to the girl. "Bye, Sam, hope I see you later tonight." replied Dani. Her parents then pulled up to the school; she gets into the car and leaves. Sam walks to Dean, then heads back to the house. "Sorry to pull you away from your girlfriend." teased Dean. "Dean! Cut it out! She's not my girlfriend, she's only eight years old." argued Sam. "So, you're ten, that's only a two year difference, no big deal." said Dean. "Just shut up, okay." said Sam glaring at Dean. "Hey...um, Dean?" Sam said shyly. "Yeah, Sam?" replied Dean. "C-can I go trick-or-treating with Dani tonight?" asked Sam. "No. You know what Dad says about going out on Halloween." answered Dean. "Come on, Dean, please! I never get to go!" begged Sam. "Besides, I promised Dani I would. It'll make it a little easier for her since we're both new here. What would you want me to do, break my promises?" he explained. Dean finally agreed when Sam mentioned free candy.
At the house, Sam gets into his costume. "Well, howdy there, partner." Dean said seeing Sam in his costume. "Don't make fun of me." replied Sam. "I wasn't making fun of ya." protested Dean. "Where'd you get that anyway?" he asked his little brother. "It, uh...was given to me...b-by Dani." mumbled Sam. Dean's grin grew very wide. "Awww, how sweet. Your girlfriend got you your costume. You got yourself a sugar-mama that spoils you; you're so lucky, man." said Dean. "It's not like I asked her to do it. I told her I didn't have one, nor the means to get one, and then she just surprises me with it at school today." said Sam. "Dani and Sammy sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Dean mocked. "That's it! You're dead!" shouted Sam angrily. Sam tackles Dean and wrestles him to the ground; the brothers fight each other for a few minutes calling each other names.
