Legacy

"Wow." I don't know what else to say, looking at the view in front of me. Camp half-blood looks exactly like my parents described it.

"Your dad and I are going to go find Chiron. Why don't you go explore? We'll find you after. No sword fighting or archery yet, and don't even think about climbing the lava wall!" My mom calls as I sprint down the valley. It's the beginning of summer and there are kids everywhere. My head is spinning in all directions, trying to soak up as much of the place at once. I'm looking over at the cabins when I bump into somebody.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" A girl slightly shorter than I glares at me and I notice that her eyes are just like my moms.

"Sorry, I'm new and I wasn't paying attention." I say. This girl is making me nervous.

"Have you been claimed yet?" She asks me confidently.

"No need, I'm a legacy. Theo Jackson." I introduce myself, holding out my hand.

"Wow, a legacy? I've never met one before. We mostly just have regular demigods and saytrs here. I'm Pippa, by the way." The girl says, looking me up and down. I feel a little self conscious but I get the feeling she's just analyzing me, not checking me out.

Do you want a tour?" She asks me. I nod enthusiastically.

"Well, here are the cabins. That's mine, cabin 6." Pippa starts the tour but my vision tunnels when I see cabin 3. My dad's cabin. I race towards it, Pippa calling behind me.

"Hey, I wouldn't go in there!" I ignore her warning and push the door open. It smells like the ocean, and it looks like nobody has been in here in years. There's cobwebs over the beds and a faint dampness to it. I love it. I know in an instant that if I'm going to be coming here, I'm staying in my dad's cabin. Pippa catches up with me, standing in the doorway.

"Nobody is allowed in here. There hasn't been a son of Poseidon here in years. The last one was Percy Jackson." Pippa says.

"Don't worry, my dad won't mind." I say, running my fingers through the drachmas on the bottom of the fountain. I concentrate and manage to keep my hand dry. While I inherited my mother's smarts, the older I've gotten, the more developed my dad's powers have become. If I concentrate, I can breathe underwater and I can keep myself dry. Smaller cuts will heal if I drench them.

"Your dad? You mean to tell me, that your father is Percy Jackson? One of the legendary seven, the defeater of Kronos, and part of two great prophecies?" Pippa's eyes go wide.

"Well, he had help." My dad says from behind Pippa and her faces pales as she spins around.

"Oh my gods." Pippa says quietly. My parents come in and join me in the cabin.

"Wow, Percy. It's been so long since we've been in here. Looks like you've been neglecting your chores." My mom teases my dad. He smirks at her.

"Hey, not everyone can be the perfect cabin counselor." My dad says back to her. I remember Pippa and introduce her to my parents.

"Mom, Dad, this is Pippa. She was giving me a tour. She's from cabin 6." I say and Pippa enters the cabin. She waves nervously, as if starstruck.

"Cabin 6? Me too! I'd love to come meet the rest of you guys. I'm Annabeth." My mom tells her and Pippa practically vibrates with excitement.

"Oh my gods." Is all Pippa can manage to say.

"Why don't you go with your mom, check out her old digs? I'd like a minute in here, alone." My dad suggests. Pippa leads the way, heading back to the cabin she pointed out earlier. It looks like an old library to me. My mom looks back at me and smiles and I can see the resemblance between her and Pippa. Same grey eyes, same blonde hair. My mom's hair is more curly though. I got the blond hair too, but it remains in the messy fashion that my dad is known for.
