Sorry I'm stretching out those two cliffhangers, but I need a Prinxiety chapter here sooooo~
Virgil took a deep breath in chemistry, putting his head down to try to block out some of his surroundings. He wasn't having an attack, but his anxiety felt a little on edge at the time.
"Not that I'm in any type of position to advise you on what to do, but I'm fairly certain putting your head down on the lab table during an experiment is a safety hazard." Logan's voice sounded from across the way.
"Sorry..." Virgil said to his lab partner. "It is just water with food coloring and salt though."
"Correct. I'm surprised, I didn't think you were listening at all." Logan stated he then finished mixing all the beakers and looked to his friend. "What is wrong?"
"Oh you know, same old same old. My nerves are just a little on edge." Virgil replied trying to focus only on the other's voice and drown out any other noises around him.
"What has you so upset?" Logan asked calmly.
"We don't have play rehearsal tonight." Vigil responded.
"Wait... did I hear that correctly? You are experiencing anxiety because you don't have play rehearsal tonight?" Logan appeared confused.
"Yes." Virgil sighed in annoyance. "It's because I promised that stupid prince I'd have him over for dinner when we had a break from rehearsal."
Logan raised a brow at him suspiciously. "Why would you make such a promise?"
"Because my mother made me." He replied quickly explaining himself so his friend wouldn't get the wrong idea. "She wanted to meet him..."
Logan nodded. "I see. Then why do you feel so nervous about it?"
"You know I don't really like inviting many people into my home..." Virgil replied shrinking down slightly. "It's my safe place and it's really... personal. I mean I don't mind having you over, but you're a close friend..."
"I suppose that's understandable, but it's not like you're inviting a stranger in. Technically, whether your relationship was good or otherwise, you have known Roman since elementary school have you not?" Logan tried to reassure him.
"I guess..." Virgil replied shifting awkwardly. "I don't know... the thought of it just feels... weird."
Logan watched him for a moment. "Virgil, have you considered that perhaps it isn't bringing him into your home exactly that is the issue? You said it yourself it's your safe place, you feel most comfortable there, you tend to act more... like yourself. So perhaps you're rather more scared of having Roman in particular being the one close to you in that environment."
"What do you mean scared of Roman in particular?" Vigil asked sounding slightly panicked.
"Virgil as oblivious as I am, to mine and most others, romantic and emotional escapades I can still obviously see your feelings towards Roman have changed." Logan stated bluntly.
"Wha-? How??" Virgil asked not denying his friend's accusation. "You are practically never around us."
"But I can tell your shift in attitude. Every time you used to speak of him you would have a very frustrated demeanor, but now you look around like your afraid someone's listening." Logan pointed out. "Besides I may not have been around the two of you, but Patton has."
"Patton? You guys talk about me and Roman?" Virgil asked.
"On occasion." Logan shrugged. "You are looking over the point. From experience, I can tell you it is probably best you do not deny you have feelings, and embrace them instead."
