Ella's POV.

Team Flash had just defeated King Shark and when Barry came back with the others he seemed much better. "Okay guys, well I'm gonna hit the road." Cisco said. "Me too." Caitlin answered. "Yeah I should probably turn in. It's been a crazy day." Jessie said. Wells nodded to his daughter. "Okay honey, I'll be working in my lab." "Yeah, okay guys. See you tomorrow." Barry smiled.

"Hey, Ella! You need a ride?" Cisco asked. Ella opened her mouth to answer, but was cut off by Barry. "Uh don't worry about it Cisco. I'll take her home!" Cisco smiled and gave them a thumbs up. "Okay. See you guys." He walked out following Caitlin.

After everyone had left the main lab. Ella looked over at Barry who was still in his suit with his mask off. He smiled at her. "You don't mind do you?" She smiled back and shook her head. "Not at all." Okay. "You ready to go?" She gave a nod and in a flash, if you will, he had picked her up in his arms. She giggled and looped her arms around his neck. He smiled down at her and ran her back to her apartment.

When they stopped she realized they were on her balcony. The gentle wind blew her hair. She looked up at Barry. He was already looking down at her. His face held a strange expression one she hadn't seen in ages. It made her tingle.

She gave him a sweet smile. "I see our talk helped." She spoke softly. He nodded, his face never changing expression. "It did. You were right. I can't hold the world on my shoulders. Not alone. I've realized that. . . I can't even be the Flash on my own." He said. She raised an eyebrow.

"I need you." Ella felt her heart flutter. "Me?" She asked. He nodded, setting her down on the floor of the balcony and took her hands in his own. "I can't do any of this without you, Ella. Your the reason I am able to be who I am and that I'm able to do what I do. Without you I could never be the Flash. And I'd be a pretty miserable Barry Allen too."

Ella smiled and gave a soft laugh. Then she decided to ask something she had wanted to ask for a while. She looked down at their hands. "Umm. . .earlier today you said that you told my uh doppelgänger that there was someone who wanted to marry me and . . .have children." She stated and looked up to see him nod. She smiled. "Who exactly is this fellow who wants to have all that with me?"

Barry looked down at her and smiled shyly. He rubbed he back of his neck causing her to have to bring her arms to her sides. "Uh. . .me. . .actually." Ella smiled happily. "Really?" He nodded. "Even after you experienced being married to Iris?" She asked him cautiously.

Barry looked at her, caught off guard. He walked up to her, taking her face in his hands. "Ella, I promise you. Iris is my best friend. I could never be happy with her in that way." He assured her strongly "And to be honest it felt very weird. I mean she's like my sister, but it's very different with you." He told her. "I could never feel for Iris what I feel for you." He told her strongly.

Barry looked into her eyes. "I love you." Ella's heart fluttered. He had finally said it. "I've waited so long to hear you to say that to me again." She breathed with tears in her eyes. He smiled rubbing his thumb against her cheek. "Well, you'll never have to wait to hear me say it again. I'll never stop telling you." Ella breathed a soft laugh. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Finally Barry leaned down and captured her lips. She kissed him back. It was a simply kiss, but a firm and gentle one. Barry pulled back and looked at her. She smiled up at him. "I love you, Barry." "And I love you, Ella."

With that he kissed her again. They stood on the balcony, embraced in each other's arms.  The wind blowing a round them and snow beginning to fall, but they weren't cold. They didn't care. All they needed was each other and in that they found their warmth and comfort.
