CHAPTER FOURTY ______________________________
"TODAY WE ARE HERE TO HONOR HANASENJU-HATAKE AND KAKASHIHATAKE." NARUTO'S VOICE never wavered as he spoke over the village. His village. His parent's village. A small smile was plastered onto his face. It was both of their wishes that they passed peacefully, with the presence of their family. Hinata, Sakura, Sasuke, Katsuo, Yuu, Guy, Kurenai, himself, and their children stood in a line at the top of the Hokage tower. Each of them silently mourning the loss of their two closest friends and family.
"They were many things. They were ninja, they were Kakashi of the Sharingan and War Goddess, but most importantly they were good friends. They were amazing parents. Even better grandparents." He looked back at his children, watching them smile at him before he turned. "Truth is I had nothing before I met them. They were truly my saviors. The mother and father I had only dreamed of. And then they got to be my true parents. And I can't thank them enough. My heart is full of so much love for them. I want them to live on forever, just as any son should."
Those words hit his sibling hard. He felt a tear run down his cheek, and then a warm hand on his face. His husband gave him a soft smile, and Katsuo gave him one in return. Their son looked up at the two, comforting them both with a hug.
"Adoption means the world to our family, so we are opening the Senju-Hatake Adoption Center." The yellow-haired man gestured to the group standing on both sides of him, and the crowd cheered at the news. "Family is everything. Every child deserves to have one, no matter who or what they came from. That's what my parents believe, and that's what I and my family will continue to believe as long as we live."
More people errupted into louder cheers, many of them clapping as well.
"I never imagined this would be our life." Sakura laughed lightly, wiping the tears on her face away.
"Me either." Sasuke agreed.
"And it's all because of you." Katsuo grinned at his brother, his cheeks brimming with a tint of pink.
The others nodded in agreement, all of them smiling at the man standing in front of them with a soft expression.
"No. It was all because two people decided to love a lost boy and made something beautiful out of it."
NOTE FIN!
