Little Ezekiel was in a deep sleep as Diego rocked him back and forth. The day he had been dreading was finally here, after spending four days in Texas, Diego had to get back to LA. His management wanted him to take his focus back into his music. They wanted another album more than anything. A knock at the door had brought Diego out of his deep thoughts.

Alicia Cruz stood by the door with her arms crossed and a warm smile on her face, Diego had always thought of her as a second Mom, having spent some of his summers as a child with the Cruz family when his own parents couldn't afford to send him to an actual camp. The Cruz family estate had become a summer camp for him every year.

"Hey hun, just checking to see if you're ready to get going." Mrs.Cruz had stepped forwards, her arms out so he could give her Ezekiel. Everybody seemed to love the little baby and Diego could already tell that his godson was going to be spoiled rotten. Standing up to give Alicia her grandson, Diego nodded his head.

"Yeah, is Michelle dropping me off?" Diego asked as he watched her sit down in the rocking chair he had just been seating on. Pulling out his phone, Diego sent Penelope a quick text letting her know he'd be home soon. A smile was on his face as she immediately responded, letting him know she'd be waiting for him back at her place.

"I know that look." Alicia teased as she looked at Diego's facial expression, before Diego could ask her what she meant, she replied. "Michelle said something about a girl you're dating, how's that going?" Alicia questioned as she brushed away a strand of hair. Diego let out a chuckle as he shook his head. Of course Michelle had said something.

"She has such a big mouth." Diego teased as he shook his head again. "We're not dating, yet. We're still working things out." He didn't want to jinx anything as he gave the wooden dresser a soft knock, something that didn't go unnoticed by Alicia.

"She must be the one then, this girl." Diego nodded at what she said and Alicia couldn't help the wide smile that spread across her face, even if Diego wasn't her son, she still felt like he was. "I'm going to give you some advice hun, if you really truly believe that this young lady is the one.." Diego tried to avoid eye contact, he wasn't the type to talk about feelings but he wasn't going to tell someone who was practically his second Mom, to shut up. "Do something about it. Fix whatever needs fixing but do not let her slip away from your grasp." Alicia watched as Diego bit his bottom lip and nod his head at her words. "She makes you happy, I can tell. Don't let her go Diego." The conversation was cut short as Michelle came into the room.

"You ready to go?" She asked with the keys in her hand. Diego cleared his throat and nodded his head. Giving Alicia a quick kiss on the cheek, Diego said a quick 'thank you'. as he gave Alicia and Ezekiel one last look, Diego walked out of the nursery with more on his mind than before.

LA
FOUR HOURS LATER

Each one he looked at, didn't feel like it was the one, nothing had stood out and he was more than ready to move on into the next store. He wanted the perfect one and he was going to get it, Penelope deserved the best. Everyone knew it. The tall blonde who had been helping him the last hour was wearing a white blouse and black pencil skirt, held up another one. Trying to see if maybe, it would get Diego's attention.

Shaking his head, Diego was almost ready to walk out when he saw it. It was in a case a few feet away, it sparkled and Diego knew, that it was the one.

"Why haven't you showed me that one?" He asked as he walked towards it. The blonde quickly tried to put everything away as she grabbed the keys that were around her wrist.

"You said you wanted rose gold, this one, as you can see is not." She tried to explain but Diego wasn't hearing it. It was perfect and he knew it was the one.

"I'll take it. Don't care how much it cost, it's that one." He said as he cleared his throat. Looking over at Lucas, who had been standing around on his phone, Diego nodded his head over to him. The tall blonde that he hadn't even bothered learning the name of, unlocked the case, pulling it out slowly. Diego reached over, taking the object into his hand. The smile he was trying to hold in had escape and he couldn't wait until Penelope saw it.

She was the one and she deserved something that showed her just that.
