CHAPTER 70
Jing Yue, Come Here and Pour the Tea for Me
“Ke ke (cough)……” Xiao JingRan had a smile on the corners of his mouth. He raised his eyebrows and stayed silent while watching Jing Yue sighing sorrowfully.
“You say, what is this tea party held for? Why does it have to be so complicated just to drink tea? I can practically foresee how burning hot the occasion will be later.” Jing Yue leaned against the palanquin’s wall, frowning and mumbling to herself.
“What do you mean?” Xiao JingRan raised his eyebrows and asked.
“Ei?” Jing Yue blinked her eyes. She had just wanted to explain when she suddenly heard noises from outside the palanquin. Immediately, she excitedly opened the palanquin’s curtain to look and sure enough, she saw Yun momo had already come bringing everyone along. There was surprise and joy in Jing Yue’s eyes.
“I’ll go first. I’ll tell you more about it next time if I have the chance.” Jing Yue rushed without any halt and went down from the palanquin. She turned around, smiling at Xiao JingRan, and said, “Thanks.”
Xiao JingRan watched Jing Yue’s figure in astonishment as she was cheerfully running away. A thread of strange emotion flashed in his eyes. He pursed his lips and finally, he raised his voice to let the guards carry the palanquin away. There was a thread of smile in his eyes when he looked at the couch which Jing Yue had messed.
Perhaps, even Xiao JingRan himself wasn’t aware of this smile.
Jing Yue followed Yun momo and the group of people to enter the Joyous Spring Court together. This court was filled with colorful spring plants that were particularly pleasing to the eyes. These kinds of rare and unique plants, Jing Yue had never seen in her two lifetimes.
After walking through a short path, they could already see Fu RuoQing sitting upright high above with a gorgeous imperial dress covering her whole body. As an Imperial Consort, she was extremely favored by the Emperor, however, until to this day she hadn’t been conferred as the Empress yet. Meanwhile, the Empress’s body was weak and she doesn’t have a child yet, however, the Emperor kept delaying the disposal of her Empress title.
The reason for his actions was unknown.
“Everyone may sit.” Fu RuoQing was indeed a beautiful woman. When those pair of seductive eyes stare at you, they seemed to be inviting something. However, if you looked carefully at her eyes, you’d see that they were without any waves and were carrying some kind of profound secret.
Jing Yue didn’t want to be noticed by the Consort Goddess. She searched for a seat at the farthest back to sit before hanging her head down in silence as if she was transparent.
Fu RuoQing leisurely caressed the crease on her cuff and said, “Today, I’ve invited everyone to come here. Firstly, because there is a batch of scented tea sent as a new tribute in the palace. The flavor is pretty good so I took this tea out and let everyone have a taste. As for the second reason, naturally, to see how everyone’s studies in palace etiquettes are.”
“Many thanks for Consort Goddess’ favor.” Everyone bowed and said.
“Someone! Take the tea.” Fu RuoQing slightly raised her white hand. Those cardamom-painted fingers in particular, really attracted everyone’s gazes.
A group of extremely beautiful maids entered and offered the tea. Everyone was stunned by their beauty when they saw those maids.
A maid had wanted to pour the tea for Fu RuoQing, however, she lifted her hand to block the maid. She lifted her eyes and swept her gaze over everyone before clearly saying, “Who can come and pour the tea for me?” Once Fu RuoQing’s words landed, everyone’s eyes were showing happiness.
Everyone sat, each straightening their backs. In their hearts, they were looking forward to be called by Consort Goddess.
“Jing Yue, come here and pour the tea for me.” Originally, Jing Yue was still trying to find out what kind of scented tea the tea was, she had wanted to open her mouth and ask Ning XiangYuan beside her when Fu RuoQing suddenly called her name.
“Me?” Jing Yue pointed at her own nose. She lifted her gaze and saw Fu RuoQing wearing a gentle smile staring at her. Jing Yue suddenly felt helpless, despite hiding far at the back, why did she still not let her go and continue to bite?
