WAYO'S POV

As soon as the men clear the park entrance they spot me and Red and immediately close in on us. Yelled orders have them quickly trying to distribute themselves out around us in a circle, but their actions are sloppy and unprofessional.

Throwing a glance beside me at Red, I confirm, 'You ready?'

'Always.' He states confidently.

It doesn't matter that there are over twenty men bearing down on us with weapons and evil intent right now, we both know we'll prevail. There's no way we'll lose to a bunch of Marching Horde losers. Especially since the rest of the pack is on their way. These guys will be dust beneath our feet in minutes. Besides I know something that gives us an extra edge.

'They want to take me alive. To sell me to the highest bidder.' I inform the entire pack which causes a burst of outraged growling and cussing to pour through our link.

'That works to our advantage. It means they won't go all out against you since they want you in one piece. Too bad for them we won't hold back.' Mon states confidently then reminds everyone. 'We only need one of them alive for questioning.'

The first strike comes from a warrior about my height in greasy leather armor. He breaks away from his place in the circle and runs right at me, screaming a battle cry as he charges. A burst of adrenaline rushes through my system and I can't help bouncing in place waiting for him to reach me.

Still running all out, he brings his sword over his head as he tries for a downward strike against me. Spinning out of the way, I let him pass by then step up behind him. Grabbing his shoulder for leverage, I shove my flaming sword through his back and watch as it erupts from his chest as he bends backwards. Raising my foot to his ass, I shove him forward and away from me as I pull my sword free of his body. He has just enough time to turn to me with a dumbfounded expression on his face before he bursts into dust. Most of his remains fall to the ground but some of the dust particles float in the air around us as they're caught on the evening breeze.

Spinning back to my original position, I once again face the men but this time with a smirk on my face. As they begin to shift and look a little nervous, I lift my arm straight out towards them and curl my fingers inward twice, signaling them to come and try their luck. Anger at my cockiness runs through them, and the real battle begins as more than half of them charge us.

Red and I are fully engaged fighting off the assault when suddenly I feel four beings burst through the dampening field I put up to shield our actions from the outside world. Glancing towards the park entrance, I can't help but smile again as I see Montry, Chaang, Jay and Zee racing in our direction in their Hellhound forms. Releasing thunderous howls of anger and fury they attack the men from behind and quickly cut through them like a hot knife through butter as they make their way towards me and Red.

Now that we're all together, we form a circle facing outward, our backs shielded by the person behind us. We have no concerns about getting attacked from behind though. We have years of built up battle experience together and faith in our bond, so we know nothing is getting through our defenses.

This time most of the remaining men move forward slowly, working together as they tighten the circle around us and initiate their attacks. They're testing our defenses, but they'll find no weaknesses here except their own. Too bad for them they won't realize it until they're dust.

Ducking under a sword thrust at my neck from the mercenary in front of me, I spin around and slam my wing into him. The force throws him off balance, driving him into his partner who was lifting his sword to strike. He's instantly impaled on his partners sword and can only release one last bellow of frustration before bursting into a pile of dust.
