Leo and I were planning a night together.
I ended up letting him meet me up on my roof to talk. He'd already shown me space heros and I'd shown him my favorite show Criminal Minds (if you don't like that show pick your favorite show). We decided we'd both talk about our favorite parts, but we both knew that by the end of the night we'd be talking about something completely different. That's what I liked about Leo, I never knew what I was going to get with him. For a leader, he was unpredictable. I liked it.
On the other hand, work with my older brother kept cutting our time together short. Leo forced me to promise I'd not have anything to do tonight.Candy was with a babysitter, my brother was out with friends, and I would be hanging out with Leo. It all worked out evenly... for now. I wondered how long our friendship could stay a secret before something happened.
I turned to look at my work. It wasn't the most comfortable, but I couldn't risk my brother stumbling into the apartment and seeing a giant turtle in the living room -or worse- my own room. A small thud came from behind me, and I turned around thinking it was Leo. Instead, through the darkness, I didn't see anything. I frowned, then laughed, internally beginning to overthink the situation.
What if it was a killer koala bear?!?! What if it was something evil?
"I know karate! Black belt right over here!" I point to myself and lower my voice. "Yeah! So- so don't mess with me!" Carefully, I climb up into the edge of the roof to get a better look ahead. I turned around for a moment to look around but I was hit by force, knocking me backwards. I scream and fall, only to be grabbed and pulled back into the roof. Familiar laughter filled me ears and I growled.
"Leo! Not funny!"
"Saved ya again, (y/n). Was standing on the edge really your best chance in a fight?"
"You know I can't fight! Leo, you jerk!" I laughed as he mocked my look of fear and shoved him backwards. We ended up on the ground wrestling, but of course he was winning.
"You're a ninja! That's not fair!"
"Life isn't fair!"
"You're not fair!"
"I was never trying to be fair!"
"Ugh, you're heavy!"
"Oh yeah? How about now?"
Leo pushed himself further onto me, making me laugh and suck in air. "Leo!" I chocked back on my laughs, trying to contain myself enough to speak. "Leo, stop, you're squishing me!" He laughed back but lifted himself back up. We continued to laugh and mock each other.
Who knew a serious leader could be so silly?
