Forgive Me

                                    

                                          

You look at Steve in disbelief, the color drains from your face. 
                          
"What? ....What do you mean hes gone?"
                          
"It seems he was pretty upset about the whole thing. I went upstairs after you passed out to see if he was okay. I found him gearing up in the armory....and well....he said he was going back to the docks to find a trail to the guys who shot you. I offered to go with him but he said he had to do this on his own, and then he left."
                          
"Hes gone on his own? This is all my fault," you say holding back tears.
                          
"I wouldn't worry about it, you need to rest some more your not 100% yet," Steve says getting up from the chair at the side of your bed and walking towards the door. 
                          
"When Bucky is driven and focused he will get what he wants." 
                          
"But he wouldn't be doing this if I had told him about the serum."
                          
Steve opens the door and steps half way out and turns around, "if you hadn't taken the first dose you would have died yesterday. Bucky realized this too and asked me to keep an eye on you while hes gone. He still cares about you."
                          
"Thank you," you say as he leaves. Steve smiles and nods as the door clicks shut behind him.
He still cares, you think to yourself. This give you a gleam of hope that he wont be mad at you forever.
                          
You look out your window the sun is just about to set, the sky looks beautiful. Your thoughts wonder to Bucky, where was he, what was he doing? Just then a familiar friend flies through the window to your bed side. A huge smile grows across your face.
                          
"Oh how glad I am to see you again (y/n)," Corax tells you.
                          
"And I'm glad to see you too," you reply. 
                          
"I take it you didn't get chance to tell James?" he asks. 
                          
You shake your head, "I was planning on telling him, until we got chased down and I got riddled with bullets."
                          
"How did you know I didn't tell him?" you ask curious.
                          
"I watched him leave the complex, he saw me and told me not to follow and I wasn't about to disagree with an assassin on a war path," he slightly chuckles to lighten the mood.
                          
"I hope hes okay Corax."
                          
"I wouldn't worry dear," he assures you.
                          
You swing your legs off the bed and walk towards the bathroom to check under your bandages. Corax follows.
                          
"Your healing quickly," he adds.
                          
You lift your tank top over your head to see your chest had been bandaged making you look like you were wearing a tube top and 2 squares of bandage, one on your stomach and one on your back where the bullet had exited.  Peeling back the bandage on your torso you see dried blood and a deeply set scar where the bullet had entered. You turned and took the bandage off your back to reveal the same deep set scar.
                          
"It seems like these are going to be with me forever." 
                          
"Things could of been a lot worse (y/n)," Corax tells you.
                          
You sigh and dread to think how things could of gone. 
                          
"How about you take a shower and then we can see if your abilities have improved?" 
With all that had gone on you had forgotten that with the serum your abilities could of heightened. 
                          
"Well i definitely have fast healing," you say taking off your bandages, "nNo need to keep them on since my wounds are pretty much healed" 
                          
Corax flies out of the bathroom to give you privacy. Taking off all your bandages you see that the scar on your chest is less healed than the others, however you have no pain.
Stepping into the shower you welcome the water to your body, the warmth making you feel relaxed. You close your eyes as you start to rub soap into your skin. That's when you hear a voice. A very faint and broken.
