My hands trembled as I walked closer to the door. My stomach was feeling bubbly, and my breathing was inconsistent.

I didn't know if coming here was a good idea, but I still wanted to support Nick. I turned in my V.I.P card to the security guys, and they let me through the express line, which wasn't even a line because I just walked in.

The exhibit was a big event, as many people wanted to know about the infamous Nickolas Carter.

The glass were packed with people observing the paintings and talking. There were photographers, modelers, actors and actresses, fashion designers, journalists, businessmen and women, reporters, painters, authors, and a bunch of other professions.

I was glad I got the biggest place in the city.

As I continued to walk, I spotted Nathan in the crowd, so I made my way over to him.

"Hey," he smiled.

"Hey," I greeted back.

"You okay? You look nervous," he asked.

"Uh...have Nick talked to you about last night?" I asked.

"Nah. I haven't heard from him in two days," Nathan answered. "Please tell me he's okay."

"Physically, yes," I nodded.

I actually had the nerves to go to work today. When he saw me, he just kept me occupied with planning the stuff for this event. At least I knew he was physically stable.

"What happened last night, Sage?" Nathan asked, worry evident on his face.

"I told him that I'll be moving tomorrow. He asked to come with me, and I said no. I'm not leaving any contact info with anyone either," I filled Nathan in. "He got really upset and started throwing stuff at his office door, and he told me to never come back if I leave."

"Was he crying?" Nathan asked, and I nodded my head. "Damn, Sage, you fucked up. He's been hurting for a while now. I think you pulled the last string."
