"Well, your supposed to say 'Wow Dorrie, it's amazing', or 'Omg!', like you Americans say." She grinnedHonestly, I was astounded. The sky was filled with people, flying on machines similar to the one Leonardo dead Vince, I mean de Vince made. The only change to them was that they had a whiter hue, and gold lined the edges.
I frowned. "Does everything in this kingdom have white and gold as a color? No red, brown, or the other colors?"
"Of course! We just prefer white and gold since white represents purity, and gold goes along with it. In times of trouble, it can act as a barrier between life and death, so that's why it's a common color." She said. "Anyways, we have to go meet the director. He's been dying to see you."
"Lead the way." I said. She grabbed my hand and began to pull me forcefully, earning a few looks from the people around us.
---*---
"Hmm, she seems normal. But normal people always hide something, like in every TV show!"
The director poked and prodded my check, which set a jolt of pain through my body.
"Shes a little skinny, don't you think? And she doesn't even have marks on her. Are you sure she's the one?
Dorrie nodded. She then took a dagger hidden in her boots and cut my skin.
"Hey! That hurts you know!" I cried out.
"Ya, but it produces results. Look." She pointed out
The cut on my cheek soon began to heal, and was soon gone. Nothing remained of it.
"Yes, but are you sure she's up for it? Jessie, you have a choice to go back now. This is the point of no return. Are you ready to join my academy?"
"Academy? I thought it was just, go into battle, save the world, and go home for ice cream!"
He gave me an odd look, and started to laugh. "No my dear, you've got training to do. Do you honestly think you could take on an Oumi by yourself. Well, technically, I should make you to basic school, since you don't have much knowledge on our civilization and our government structure, but I'm going to place my faith in you and let you start in my school instead. You have a lot of studying to do, so, get a move on! Your schedule will appear once you open the door, and the Geni have paid for your tuition, so please get a move on. You don't want to disappoint them." He ended with a mischievous grin.
I sighed, as Dorrie took my hands as we exit the director's office.
"Hey Dorrie?" I said while we walked on the cobblestone path.
"Yes?"
"Why is your armor white when I'm supposed to have the power of light? Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?"
She paused, and an unknown expression past on her face. "We-, Well, it um, it helps me support my powers! Since I control darkness. And, it helps everyone to like me?. This is actual yours, I guess?"
"Right....." It was obvious she was hiding something, but I just don't know what.
"Here we are, the academy. Welcome to Cattavo academy! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I mean, you might get bullied by your origin, and since your a beginner but it'll be totally fine!"
"Whatever happened to honor?" I mumbled.
We passed through the doorway, and baggage appeared, along with a key and a scroll.
"So let's see what you got!" Dorrie snatched. "So first period is Economics, Second is History, Third is study hall. Your definitely going to need that. Lunch afterwards, what a great break! Next is Magic history, then P.E., I hope you don't get Mrs. Jeanette, she's the worst. Good luck though, it's hard with any teacher. Lastly is Magic training. I'm surprised you don't get combat, it's probably supposed to be the third period."
I nodded, taking the information in. "What's the bag and the key for?"
"Oh silly, it's for your uniform. And the key is your dormitory. Come on, don't you think? I'll wake up that big brain of yours." She grinned
"Shut up. And may I remind you, only two hours ago I was in my house, not knowing of another world. You better be glad I didn't pass out by shock."
"Ya but you did puke from it." She said, giving off a malicious grin, which earned her a slap.
"By the way, they probably got you some paint for your cheeks."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, a Geni citizen normally learns their magic type and wields it in basic school. But since your going to this academy, which is similar to college, you might be frowned upon faster, so we put paint to make it seem your an average student. Also, try and refrain from telling your peers about who you are, it may cause attempts on your life. And I've heard that I'm a bad bodyguard, so, keep low okay?"
"Alright alright, can I just go in now?"
"Of course! See you later!"
