Ever since I was a small child, my father always hammered it into my head that I was to the Pakhan of the Voronin crime family once he died. My father ruled with an iron fist. If he saw anyone get at least one step out of line, he usually had them killed off because he feared them to be a threat to his crime empire that he built.
As a child, my father always criticized me constantly for my looks, saying that I would never be able to find a woman that would have me because of my facial deformity. Every night, he would constantly call me hideous or a monster, the word freak was always his favorite to call me.
However, I couldn't control my looks as they were from a fire that I was in when I was a baby that ultimately claimed my mother's life. But, thankfully. My luck changed when my father was killed in a fight for a portion of property in Miami that belonged to the Marino crime family.
When he was killed, the event itself didn't bring a tear to my eyes and I didn't morn his death one bit. When he died a smile came across my face that couldn't be wiped off for days. I practically jumped for joy, which would have been scary as shit, seeing a 6ft 6inch, 250-pound, beefy man jumping out of happiness in the middle of a badly lit street, after watching his father finally be taken out.
But, he was finally out of my life and was no longer the verbally abusive bastard that he once was in my life. Three days after his death and his funeral, I was given my father's role as the Pakhan for our family.
Ever since then, I have been doing my best to keep all the men that work for me under control. I even had a new strip club built on the south side of Miami. Which is where I am at right now, trying not to catch something from one of these strippers.
As I sat back in the VIP section, downing straight vodka from my glass. I heard one of my father's old associates mumble something underneath his breath. I slammed the crystal vodka glass that I still had in hand down on the darkened oak table and gave the old man a snarling look before asking him. "What the fuck did you just mumble?!"
I watched as the old man jumped in his seat and his whole body shook from fright. I watched as he grabbed a white napkin from off the table, wiped his mouth before I heard him nervously reply to me.
"It was nothing. Don't worry about it. It was just an old man being angry at himself." He replied, as he moved his empty glass towards the hostess that was waiting to refill his drink.
I watched him as he took his full glass and raised it to his lips and nervously drank about half of it. And then sat his glass down onto the table and then looked back up at me and said. "Pakhan. Are you sure that you want to buy the Sunset Hotel? I mean it's a beautiful hotel. However, the place is not to far from the Miami police department. It would mean pure suicide if you do something like that. Are you sure that you're not crazy?"
I silently laughed a bit before I replied. "What do you think."
Peter shook his head a bit knowing that I was crazy enough to try anything at least once. I watched as he folded his arms against his suit clad chest and said. "If you're positive that this is what you want to do then you have my complete agreement in helping you with this. But. You better watch your back. You know just as good and well as I do that Vincenzo Marino would be more than happy to finally see you out of the picture for good."
"Eh. That dumb fuck again. He never knew when to give up. Every time I turn around I find that one of his cronies has snuck their way into my ranks, trying to find out any information that they can about the inner workings of this family. But don't worry, old man. Every time I find one I make sure that they get sent back in pieces in a cardboard box back to Vincenzo's doorstep."
I watched as Peter smirked a bit to himself before he responded back to me. "Good. Good. It's nice to see that stupid fuck shown who was boss. Now, if we could only make him disappear for good, then we will finally be much better off."
