Xiao Xing's POV
                          
"Hey! We're home!" I hear Mei Lin say as the front door shuts.
                          
"Hey! The noodles are done! Could you go call Qian Xi and Xiao Kai?" I ask.
                          
Wang Yuan nods and runs upstairs as Mei Lin enters the kitchen and starts unpacking the groceries.
                          
"When did Xiao Kai get home?" Mei Lin asks.
                          
"Awhile ago."
                          
"Anything happen?"
                          
"No. We barely spoke." I sighed.
                          
She shook her head as the boys rushed downstairs.
                          
"Ha! I got downstairs first! I get to eat first!" Wang Yuan cheered.
                          
"Says who?" I ask with a smirk. "What if I wanna give you yours last?"
                          
"Come on, sis! I won fair and square! And I'm so hungryyy." He complains, wrapping his arms around my neck.
                          
"Xiao Xinggg. Give me mine first, I don't feel well." Qian Xi shoves Wang Yuan away.
                          
"You're right. Here you go." I hand Qian Xi his bowl of noodles.
                          
"That's not fair." Wang Yuan pouts.
                          
I give Wang Yuan and Mei Lin theirs next and they leave the kitchen.
                          
It's just me and Xiao Kai. Ugh, it's gonna be awkward again.
                          
"Hey. Xiao Xing." Xiao Kai says, suddenly.
                          
"Hmm?" I respond, not making eye contact.
                          
"You wanna go to the mall after school tomorrow?" He asks.
                          
"Uh, sure. We can also ask Qin Qin to come too, I know she wants to get some-"
                          
"No. Just the two of us." He cuts in.
                          
I pause and don't say anything.
                          
"It's just... I know I've been kind of distant lately because I started dating Mia and everything. I feel like a jerk since I complained about you hanging out with the twins and now I'm doing the same thing. I just really want to hang out again, just the two of us..." He rants, trying to fill the awkward silence.
                          
"Alright. We can come home first and then leave."
                          
"What about your detention?"
                          
"I don't need to go. They won't even notice." I shrug, handing him his bowl.
                          
Shortly after, I bring my noodles into the dining room.
                          
"Hey guys, I've been thinking about some things that we could do together. Do you guys want to plan a picnic at the park? We can have lunch there and there's also a soccer field that we can play soccer in." Mei Lin piped up.
                          
"That sounds fun! We can do that this weekend. And we can invite Mia and Qin Qin too." Xiao Kai agreed.
                          
Ugh. Of course he wants to invite Mia.
                          
~Next Morning~
                          
"WE'RE LATE!!!!!!!" I hear a horrid scream.
                          
I jump out of bed and check the time.
                          
We were supposed to leave 30 minutes ago!!
                          
I quickly change my clothes, brush my teeth, wash my face, grab my things, and race downstairs.
                          
"Why didn't anyone wake up?!?!" Wang Yuan screams.
                          
"Xiao Kai usually wakes us up! He wasn't here this morning because he was meeting with Mia before school." Qian Xi said, shoving things into his backpack.
