Now playing: B.A.P - Wake Me Up.
He sighed humming along to the music beating on his ears. He tapped onto the group chat, his thumbs hesitantly hovering over the keypad.
I'm sorry, I love you all.
DeliveredHe turned his phone off before walking towards the bridge that he had been visiting so often.
"Wake me up" He muttered while kicking stones across the pavement to entertain himself whilst walking.
He stumbled across the road as he reached the start of the bridge, his feet dragged across the tarmac as he looked at the river, the sun was starting to set painting the sky an orangey-pink colour, there were hardly any clouds in the sky making it easy to spot the aeroplanes fly by. He stopped once he was at the highest point of the bridge, looking over it made him feel dizzy, he could see the currents flow rapidly, the murky water beneath him was dangerous.
His ribs rattled as his heart hammered, it was now or never. His eyes widened as he remembered something he had to do, he reached into his jumper's pocket grabbing out a Polaroid and a lighter, he stared at the photo for a minute or two, it made him recall his seven bandmates, 5 that will always be brothers that will be close to his heart, and 1 that will always be remembered as the love of his life.
Seokjin, the caring hyung who you could always go to if you needed help, but also the hyung that made everyone laugh and lightened the mood as soon as he walked inside the room. The hyung that came into bts with no experience in singing or dancing but now has a voice as sweet as honey and dancing that has improved a whole milestone from what it used to be.
Yoongi, the hyung who acted like he didn't give a damn when really, is one of the most down to earth human beings that Jungkook has ever met. His gummy smile will never get old, Jungkook will always admire how he would practice his rap and produce music throughout the day and the night until he got it perfect.
Hoseok, the goofy hyung who everyone needs in their life, his sunshine smile that is brighter than the moon will always be remembered by Jungkook, he will never forget how much Hobi has taught him about dance, without him Jungkook would be nowhere near how good he is at dancing now.
Namjoon, the underrated gem, the work he puts in for the band is unbelievable, when he was younger Jungkook always strived to be as passionate and persevering as Namjoon was, he still does. He would spend days and nights on new songs and music. Jungkook will always have a huge amount of respect for his band leader.
Jimin, closest to Jungkook after Taehyung. He will miss the all-nighters spent with Jimin playing video games and eating snacks, he will miss how Jimin was the true comforter of the group, always willing to give a shoulder to lean on or lend an ear to someone who was having a hard time. He was inspired by Jimin and how carefree he is.
And last but not least,
"Taehyung, TaeTae, I will be seeing you soon, I have missed your boxy smile so much it's unreal, I have never realised how much I loved you until you were gone, and honestly it's has been the hardest experiences of my life, hence why I'm doing this. I'm going to leave the hyungs, they will be okay, they have each other, if anything I'm just a burden to them so I'll be doing them a favour, I can't wait to see you TaeTae. Hang in there okay?"
He took one last look at the Polaroid in his hand before getting a grip on the lighter and striking it. He put the flame next to the photo and put it over the side of the bridge so the ashes would go into the river. He put the flame onto it and watched as the flames engulf it, he watched as the seven faces vanished into ashes slowly floating down into the river below.
"wake me up." He sang emotionlessly.
He dropped Yoongi's lighter into the river, waiting for it to make a splash a couple of seconds later.
He heard his phone go off and the familiar sound of messages on the chat, he took his phone out of his pocket and ripped the headphones off, he lobbed them into the river, with a deep breath he looked over the edge of the river like he used to when he was little. Only this time he wasn't holding his mother's hand. He cautiously climbed over the railing with his worn-out shoes, in the distance he could hear people shouting but they were too far away to save him. He looked down, there was a big drop, he closed his eyes and let go of the railings, balancing warily on the small ledge.
He lifted his head up to the sky, a vivid image of six faces in his mind,
"Thank you for everything."
He breathed in the fresh air,
"But it's time to say goodbye."
He felt his feet leave the railings as he jumped in the air, his heart racing and arms flailing.
"JUNGKOOK!"
It was too late.
