Fragment Twenty Eight
We whispered promises over skin;
envisioned a life with a new beginning.
We thought we were meant to be together and maybe
in an alternate reality we were.
When the time came to part ways
I knew our love was never true,
our hearts were stolen long ago and
we were simply separate travellers,
confusing love with a kiss
in our quest to find home.
