Heyyyy. This one-shot is a bit different  from my others in pairing. It took me to hell and back because I couldn't find the perfect plot and I kept deleting and rewriting until I finally deleted it completely and started over and my patience was running out but it finally broke through, mostly because my sister provided the idea. So, enjoy, especially because this is my first boyxboy and my friend Steven has been nothing but patient for this. :) XX-Bee

~Step one begins again at an argurement, but we're still just friends. We're eye to eye but we don't know why everything just comes and goes when-~

I could seriously use a nap right now. It's been a long day and my head between the pillows definitely seems like a great idea, but it's not even late. I'd say maybe half past four. My best mate, Jaymi  decided to ditch me earlier for some odd reason so it was just me and my phone. The only problem? Something is keeping me from actually falling asleep.

It isn't a tapping noise, but there is definitely something hitting the window. But seriously, what is this? A horrible rom-com? Where is my wonderful Prince Charming and the middle of the night where we run away and live happily ever after? (Okay, so I've been reading too many fanfictions and watching too many cheesy movies. Sue me. Chances are you do too, so don't judge me. You know what? It's not worth fighting over.)

"Steven," I then hear him call.

I knew it. I throw my phone on the bed and push the curtain. The only thing standing between the love of my life and me is this locked panel. "You bloke," I call out once it's open. "The front door is right there and my mum is downstairs."

He shakes his head. "This is more fun. Besides, I can always sneak out through your room and scare her. Move."

"Why? You're not Edward Cullen. I'm staying here until you come up, which will take some time."

"You confidence wounds me." He starts climbing the nearby tree.

"Where were you?" I ask, watching him. He's agile and graceful, mainly from those years of practice, except that he looks like he's in pain. He once showed me he could do it with his eyes closed. Very heartwarming.

"Why? Did you miss me?" He teases.

Just a lot. "I wouldn't miss you if you moved to America," I reply with a roll of my eyes. He holds his hand out for me to take him in. (My favorite part.)

"Ouch. No one hurts me like you Mate." He claps my back a little harder than necessary, but I don't mind. I like his touch.

"Are you gonna tell me or do I need to find out?" Yes, I ignore the question.

"Well," he eyes are glowing brighter than usual, which immediately puts me on guard. Last time he looked at me like that, I was draining water out of my room. (A surprise water balloon fight because of my birthday.) "I think I should just show you."

He lifts up his shirt and it takes all my energy not to have him then and there. God, I need to make a note somewhere to remind me I'm not a chick. "Shit George, what did you do?"

I trace the design on his side as carefully as I can, but he still winces as he explains. "Well, I was supposed to be grocery shopping and I passed the parlor where JJ and Josh work-" He moves my hand to his hip where the Curious George monkey ends. Oh my.

"So you got a tattoo of a monkey from those children's shows?" I play it cool. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Just a gay boy casually admiring his mate's tattoo. Completely normal.
