John Laurens

When I woke up, Alexander was no longer in bed with me. I sat up groggily.

I suddenly remembered last nights events. I felt my cheeks heat at the thought.

I got out of bed and got dressed. I didn't bother to brush my hair, instead I tied it up in a messy bun.

I left the room to find Alexander on the couch, typing on his laptop.

"Hey." I said.

He looked up and smiled, "Hey."

"How are you feeling?"

"My ass hurts but other than that." He shrugged. I laughed.

"Yeah, sorry." I said awkwardly.

"No, don't be." He laughed, "It was worth it."

I laughed again and felt myself blush again.

"We should probably get going." I said.

"Oh, classes got cancelled because of the snow. There was an email." He said.

"Oh, cool." I said, sitting next to Alex on the couch.

"What do you want to do today?" Alexander asked.

"We could meet up with the others at the dorms." I said with a shrug.

"That sounds good." Alex smiled. After some clicking on his laptop, he closed it and put it on its charger.

We put on our coats and shoes, then we were out the door.

We left the complex and began the walk to campus. Neither of us had a car so walking was the only option. I held Alex's hand.

His hair was down and he had a black beanie over it. He looked so cute.

I smiled at him, then turned away, though I was still smiling.

"What are you smiling about?" Alex asked.

"You." I said, "You look so cute today, I mean, you're cute all the time but especially right now."

Alexander snorted, "Okay, Romeo."

"I mean it! You're fucking cute!" I said.

"I know." Alex said, flipping the bits of hair that were out of his beanie.

"Oh, my God." I said, "You're a handful."

"You know you love me." He said.

"Yeah, I do." I said.

"Good, 'cause I love you, too." He said.

I laughed, "You're annoying."

"Thanks, I know." He said.

"I didn't mean it seriously, I'm just joking." I said.

"No, I know." He smiled, squeezing my hand.

"Okay." I smiled.

"Fags." A passerby muttered under his breath.

"Um, what?" Alex turned around to face him. The stranger stopped to look back.

"Alex, stop." I tried but he shook his head.

"You wanna fucking say that again?!" Alex exclaimed, pointing a finger at him.

The man just kept walking, ignoring Alexander.

"You better run!" Alexander said.

"Alex, come on." I laughed.
