Fragment Sixteen
There was a time when I believed in you and I-
in us.
Before you became a forsaken memory
lost in the abyss of my time.
That brief moment I will always cherish;
our grinning faces,
laugh lines etched into our smiles,
our bodies swaying to the beat of the music.
I taught you how to love me.
With midnight kisses,
blushing cheeks
and innocent touches.
But you taught me the best lesson I'll ever learn-
love may conquer all but it can also destroy everything.
For that,
I'll always remember
What once was-
You and I.
