"perhaps it's time to let go
now that you're older."

yoongi woke up, opening and blinking his eyes to adjust to the light seeping out from the window. he sat up and sighed when he looked at the clock beside his bed. it was nine in the morningㅡ he woke up a bit late than usual since he couldn't sleep last night. 
                          
he felt something in his chest tighten when he remembered what happened last night. yoongi bit the insides of his lips, feeling his eyes sting and a bit dizzy. suddenly, his room turns cold and his ear was hearing sounds from the room beside his from last night. though it wasn't his first time hearing that kind of thingsㅡit wasn't a rare thing if his little brother got home drunk and brought different person each time to his room.
                          
yoongi sighed once more, letting his tears roll down his cheeks that were flushed from the cold. he didn't bother to wipe his tears, never did, and went to the bathroom right across his room after randomly picking clothes from his wardrobe. he chose to have a quick shower instead of a warm bath since he had to cook.
                          
yoongi finished his shower and walked out of the bathroom, the same time the door of his brother's room opened. his dark orbs meeting light brown which belonged to someone yoongi thought must be his brother's hook up last night. the girl widened her eyes when she took notice of yoongi. 
                          
yoongi sighed softly and offered the stranger a small smile. "care for a breakfast before leaving?"
                          
which then took the girl by surprise. "i-i'm sorry but, who..?"
                          
"ah, i'm jungkook's hyung. do you want breakfast? you can take a shower while i prepare it, consider it aftercare since probably he didn't.. you know?" 
                          
"o-oh.. if it's okay with you?"
                          
yoongi let out a soft giggle when the girl looked a bit confused. "of course it's fine. i've done this lots of time." 
                          
they exchanged names and talked a bit when yoongi searched for clothes for the girl to use. yoongi learned that the girl's name was kim hyekyung, the same age as jungkook. they were at the party some student held when hyekyung and jungkook met, already wasted. 
                          
yoongi sighed, taking his phone from the nightstand before walking off to make breakfast. he felt cold when he walk past the living room, eyes catching the sight of jungkook's pullover and snatching it the minute later. he quickly wore the black pullover over his white shirt and ran to the kitchen.
                          
since it was almost afternoon, he decided to eat something a bit heavy. his choice landed on fried rice, which then he added some lamb meat. yoongi unconciously smile when he breathed in the delicious smell. he remembers that it was also one of jungkook's favourite meal.
                          
it took yoongi by surprise to find hyekyung already seated neatly on the dining table, watching him cooking patiently. 
                          
"wow, this is really good!" hyekyung beamed brightly. "it's been a long time since i taste homemade food like this. ah, thank you so much." 
                          
yoongi giggled, it was quite funny how cute hyekyung seem when she was excited over a homemade food. he sensed it was because the girl lived alone or had problems with her family, but he didn't asked. they stayed silent after that, until they finisihed and hyekyung asked a question yoongi never thought she would.
                          
"i'm sorry beforehand if this sound rude, but why are you so nice? you're jungkook's real older brother, right? other older siblings would either be angry or.. you know, don't really care." 
                          
it was an innocent question, yoongi knew that. so yoongi gave the girl a small smile. "if i said i haven't try to speak and stop him then i would be lying. but why i can't do anything further, is because a part why he's like this is my mistake. taking care of you is the least i can do."
