Veronica Sawyer's brown eyes pierced out of the window and onto the sunny platform of the town she grew up in. Nothing could bring such a uneasy churn in her stomach like this place could. All the memories flooded in her head. She squeezed her eyes shut. 3 years of being free from this town. But, she couldn't avoid it all her life.

Besides, her parents, who dreadfully wished to see her, was there. She took in a deep breath and pulled into the parking lot.

Veronica took the scene into view. Her old house. The one she once loved. But now it was her path to hell. Her eyes grew thin as she fixed her jacket up. The front door was swung open, and out came Veronica's mother, running to her with opened arms. "Mom," greeted Veronica as she hesitately hugged her. "Why haven't you come to visit us sooner?" Wailed Mrs. Sawyers. Veronica only shrugged the woman off. "Oh, my sweet daughter has finally chose to visit us," said Mr. Sawyers as he became visible at the doorway.

He looked at Veronica with a stoned face before an ear to ear grin invaded it.

"I've missed you so much," he cooed as he joined the hug. Veronica awkwardly patted the two's back. "I've missed you too, guys. But I'm really exhausted. Can we do this later. I'd really appreciate if you'd let me get a little shut eye," she informed politely.

"O-Oh, yeah. It'd be best to get some rest for tomorrow," Mrs. Sawyers agreed with a wink.

"I'll get your suitcases for you," Mr. Sawyers assured with a weak smile. "Thanks dad, thanks mom," Veronica thanked as she smiled and kissed the two on the cheek.

Her bedroom had not changed at all. Her bed was in white sheets and a large badge blanket. The pillows were fluffed and her bookbag from high school hung low on the coffee table's chair. She flopped down on the comforting bed and couldn't keep her eyes from roaming to the closet. The closet.

Where she committed suicide.

Well, technically, she hadn't since it was all an act, but still.

Veronica knew it was bad, but she couldn't help but think. How would it have been if he was still alive. If he was still here with her. She stood up, walking to the closet. The small dent was on the wall. The dent where he punched it. The day he died.

She traced it with her fingers.

Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes. "We could've fled this shitty town together, and it was all my fault. Only if I had stopped you." Veronica looked down, blinking back the tears.

Throughout the night, she hugged onto her pillow. Remembering everything about him. Everything about him was wrong. But she missed the thrill. She missed the feeling of him. No. She missed him.

"J.d." was the last word that was uttered out of her mouth.
