"Good morning, Kawakami-kun." you greet Kawakami, sitting beside the sidearm pitcher who seems to freeze upon hearing your voice
"Kawakami-kun?" You asked, waving a hand in front of his face to catch his attention, "Are you...alright?" You question him, tilting your head to the side
"No-nothing (Last name)," he answers, stuttering as he takes a glance at your face
"Kawakami-kun, you're so cute!" you giggle, poking his cheeks, causing the pitcher to turn bright red
"Oh yeah, nice pitching yesterday Kawakami-kun, you showed them your powers!" You praise him, nodding your head at him proudly
"Thank you," he answers, looking at you as you continued to poke his cheeks
You've liked Kawakami Norifumi since first year, his adorableness was just a bonus, what really caught your eye was his determination and love for the baseball team, though there would be times that he would feel down, you always made sure to comfort and reassure him
"Kawakami-kun do you like anybody?" You asked, testing the waters to see if you have a chance
"Wha-what?" He stuttered nervously as he looked at your furrowed eyebrows
'Shoot! Does she know?' He asks himself and he felt his hand get wet
"Do you like anybody?" You asked him more slowly and louder, hoping that he would understand the question and answer it
'Does she know?' Nori asked himself nervously, gulping as he stared at your eyes, feelings hypnotized by their beauty
"No-no one," He answers after he woke up from his trance, but you noticed that he was sweating, not to mention he was avoiding eye contact with you
"Kawakami-kun, you're a bad liar," you said, poking his cheeks with more force than the previous ones, making the second-year pitcher wince in pain
"Who—"
"Good morning, everyone," (teacher's name) greets the class before proceeding to start the class with a bunch of questions about the previous topic
Giving one last glance at Kawakami, you turned your attention to the front, not wanting to embarrass yourself in front of the whole class
~end of the day~
You sighed as you sat down beside (best friend's name) who was stuffing her face with (favorite food)
"You seem...sad," (best friend's name) says slowly as she took in your expression and noticed that your eyes seemed lightless while you stare at her, feeling envious that she got the person of her dreams
"What's wrong?" (Best friend's name) asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence... and when she got tired of hearing you sigh
You look at your best friend before frowning, "Kawakami-kun likes someone," you mumble as (best friend's name) proceeded to look at you blankly, feeling exasperated at how dense you are
"What?"
"Kawakami-kun likes someone," you say a bit louder this time as (best friend's name) just sighs, giving up
'Honestly, why can't they just confess to one another?' Your best friend asks themselves, tired of both you and Kawakami's game
"You know, rather than always feeling blue, I think it's better if you confess to him, to at least let him know how you feel," (best friend's name) advises making you frown
'What if he doesn't feel the same way?'
~At the Field~
Nori sighs as he sits down, his mind elsewhere, most specifically thinking of (Last name) (first name), the girl that he wants so dearly to hold
"Hey, Nori." Shirasu greeted causing Kawakami to snap back and look up the Shirasu
"Hey," Kawakami greeta back as Shirasu sits down beside him, along with his three bowls of rice
"Are you okay?" Shirasu asks, "you didn't pitch well, earlier." Shirasu continues to question the confused pitcher who just sighed in response
"Is it about (Last name)?" Shirasu asked as Nori nodded, knowing he can trust Shirasu at this kind of thing
"You like her?" Shirasu asked as Nori once again nodded
"You're not sure if she would accept your feelings," Shirasu continues to talk as Nori nods
"Maybe you should say how you feel about her."
Kawakami was about to nod but when what Shirasu said finally sunk in, he stopped his head midway
"What if I embarrass myself?" Nori asked as Shirasu looked over at Nori, not believing that none of them noticed each other's feelings for one another. The whole class, neighboring class knew, heck even the teachers started a bet on who would confess and when it would happen
"You won't," Shirasu reassures him, giving Kawakami a pat on the back and proceeds to eat his dinner
Nori looked over at Shirasu and let out a final sigh and started eating his meal
'I hope I won't.'
