Novella and Victor continued seeing each other regularly in secret. He would sneak into her apartment or they'd meet in a back alley. She wouldn't say she was totally against the idea of him, but she still had her reservations. She was an intern with the police for crying out loud and he was a notorious criminal, you'd have thought they wouldn't last a week, but weeks soon turned to months and the dates soon got to be more consistent. Nobody found out, but there were instances when it was cut close, and even more instances when Victor had to cancel a date for a job. Tonight was one of those nights. Victor had to protect Falcone and his girl while interacting with Fish Mooney, much to Novella's dismay.
Penguin walked into the room late and Victor blocked his path to Falcone until given the okay. He sat there and spilled about Liza being a spy, which was obvious to anyone who looked hard enough, but Falcone didn't want to see it. Penguin had to convince the hell out of him for his belief, but it was the call from Mooney that had him ready for blood.
"Victor, get your girls ready." It was one sentence that sent him away with a happy smile and carried him to Fish's club.
They had taken out all of the guards and now held Fish at gunpoint. Zsasz didn't bother listening to the speech that Falcone gave and barely registered the falling body of Liza. What he did hear was the order to keep Fish and Butch alive and secure, as much as he would've enjoyed doing away with the two, sometimes this route could be more fun.
"It's been great boss, but I've got somewhere to be." Victor walked out the door of Mooney's and towards Novella's apartment. She lived alone meaning he could just walk right in and not worry about any sort of interference.
"Hey Nove, where ya at?" He called through the apartment and immediately heard footsteps running down the hallway.
"Hey Vic, I didn't know you were coming by tonight?" She had her lilac hair in two messy french braids and an over-sized band tee on. Barefoot as per usual.
"Yeah I had a job, but it's done now." He never filled her in on the details, just in case someone found out about her.
"Okay, so I had the weirdest day, right." She jumped onto the couch and motioned for him sit beside her. "I was at the GCPD for work and this huge electric shock went through the entire building knocking everyone out. When I woke up Jim said that he'd stopped that electric dude that escaped from Arkham and got reinstated as a detective." She was talking at a hundred miles a minute, but Victor had learned to keep up.
"Are you okay?" That was all that came out of his mouth. The fact that someone had hurt her pissed him off, but he kept his cool.
"Yeah, it wasn't really a big deal," she said with a shrug before smiling once more. "How long can you stay, or do you have another job?"
"As of right now I have nowhere to be." She lifted an eyebrow and gave him a grin.
"So that means we can watch a movie. I made muffins last night cause I got real bored and they should still be good." Victor was up off the couch in mere seconds at the mention of his favorite food.
"You're wonderful. Where are they?" She laughed at the childish impatience he portrayed and pointed him towards the kitchen.
"They're just in there beside the oven in a container. I'll put the movie, try not to eat all the food please." He nodded and went to the kitchen to sniff out the muffins that were somehow better than any he'd ever had. Any type of dessert or snack Novella made was amazing and he always had a hard time leaving enough for her.
"Hey Zsaszles, get in here it's starting," Novella called from the couch. She had multiple different nicknames for him that anyone else would've been killed for using, but he didn't really mind when it was her.
