The day when Maxwell Nox took Mavi from the Nubes territory, many were unwilling but no one could stop the Mare prince. The mark on Maxwell Nox's chest and the pink dot under Mavi's eyes have confirmed their mating bond. It was much too late for anyone to reject or regret. Everyone could only standby and watched as the Mare prince left with Mavi in his arms while a long line of Mare warriors followed behind him.
Meanwhile, Mavi took the whole ordeal with strides. She wasn't concerned about going to the Mare's territory. She wasn't even worried about how the Mare tribe would react to her mating bond with Maxwell Nox. And judging by the cold and bothered expression by many of the female Mare following behind their prince, Mavi could already guess what kind of welcome she would receive when they enter the Mare territory. But Mavi didn't care. All she cared about was how long and terrible the trip was from the Nubes' mountainous land to the Mare's sea front.
The Mystic Orbis was a world filled with power and magic. So why was there no quick method of transportation? Mavi bitterly endured the whole antique way of traveling on foot and horses. Shouldn't there be magic carpets which she could ride on? Unfortunately, Mystic Orbis was not that kind of world with magic carpets. Mavi had to bear with the horses.
"We're almost there..."
The entire trip from the mountains toward the edge of the sea, Maxwell Nox had held Mavi within the safety of his arms while steering the black horse. While many of the female members of the Mare tribe had wished to be the woman in the prince's arms, Mavi was silently grumbling with dissatisfaction. If others knew what Mavi was thinking, they would have killed her out of fury. On the other hand, Maxwell Nox knew the petite woman was uncomfortable and soothed her with gentle words and tender caresses on her back.
"Tired?"
Mavi was too lazy to respond and didn't bother to lift her head from the comfort of the man's hard chest. Seeing the lazy beauty, Maxwell Nox couldn't help but spoil her more. He lowered his head to kiss the side of her head before his lips moved to her ear, cheek, and nose. Because the prince rode the horse far ahead of everyone else, no one saw how affectionate the man was toward the woman in his arms.
"Mavi..."
Mavi's eyes met the Mare prince's dark gaze. Just before his lips touched hers, a deadly snarl interrupted their mood. Maxwell Nox didn't looked startled or surprised by the Belua abrupt appearance. Even when the Beluas surround Maxwell Nox and his people, the Mare prince was not intimidated. Clearly, the Beluas outnumbered them, but Maxwell Nox wasn't the least concern. Instead, he wrapped a hand around Mavi's head and held her against his evenly beating heart.
"Prince Maxwell..." The warriors, unlike the prince, were clearly disturbed by the situation.
"I have wondered when you're going to attack... to have follow us for so long..."
The Mare prince's statement validate Mavi's thoughts. The Belua has evolved. They have indeed developed some intelligence. But no matter how clever they are, they're still no match for the Mare prince.
"Flumen mortis..."
With a lifted hand, Maxwell Nox call for the power of the sea. Merely hundreds of feet away, beyond the clearing of the trees was the edge of the sea. At Maxwell Nox's call, an enormous flow of water lifted from the sea and rushed toward its master. Before the Beluas could attack, a gigantic snake created by the sea, swallowed them all. Like a dangerous river, the pressure of the water pierced the Belua's bodies and slowly crushing them.
"Let's go..." Maxwell Nox said casually as he pulled on his black horse's rein.
The warriors all followed their prince proudly. Even Mavi was impressed by the man's strength.
"We have arrived..." Maxwell Nox whispered to Mavi.
Finally, Mavi lifted her head to look at the endless blue sea.
"Discindo..."
At Maxwell Nox's command, the sea suddenly split straight down the middle - revealing a cobalt stone path. When Maxwell Nox pulled the rein and had the horse moved forward, Mavi reflexively sat up straighter at the wondrous sight of the sea walls. And while her eyes took in the amazing sight around her, she missed the tender smiles on the Mare prince's face.
