preliminaries

                                    

                                          
*Naruto's POV
                          
'I need to find Orochimaru' I thought as my father scolded me for eavesdropping. I stared into space and my father sighed. A smile spread across his face
                          
"In the exams that was the first time you teleported more then one person right" he said with a smirk.  My stare broke and I shot a big grin at him. This made him laugh as he spoke
                          
"What other tricks do you have for the final" He said turning away from me and walking back to the sanin. My smile broke as I teleported home to rest thinking about Orochimaru, and the man in the orange mask. We had a days rest until the next part of the exam began. We met back at where we ended the exam. we all stood in rows as a jonin with something sticking out of his mouth walked out in front of us coughing.
                          
"Congratulations on passing the second part of the exam. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way down to business. We need to hold a preliminary round to eliminate more students" He said between fits of coughing. 
                          
'Preliminary round?' I thought. everyone began talking to each other. I saw Sakura talking to Sasuke, and Sasuke snapped at her as he ripped his arm out of his grip. I stayed out of their conversation as our names flickered across the screen. Sasuke was  up first. He looked unhappy so I walked by him leaving him be and went up into the stands I stood next to Sakura who was silent throughout the entire fight.
                          
'She is worried about him' I thought standing next to her.
                          
-Time skip to the end of Hinata's fight (every other fight was the same)
                          
Four jonin jumped at Neji as he aimed to strike at Hinata again even though she was on the ground. While the jonin took care of Neji I helped the medics get Hinata onto a stretcher.
                          
'Damn him he went to far' I thought as I ran my fingers though the blood that was splattered on the ground by their fight. Anger rushed over me as I tightened my fist
                          
'DAMN HIM!' I thought looking at him 'I will beat him' I thought as he walked off unscathed.
                          
"Next fight Naruto versus Kiba" The proctor said
                          
'shoot I need to go already' I thought as I faced Kiba.
                          
"Ready, Begin" The proctor said. We both stood there staring at each other. Akamaru stood next to Kiba crouched in an attack position. This gave me an idea, but this may hurt.
                          
'Sorry Kiba, Akamaru but I can't wait to become a chunin. I need to face him.' I thought as I threw three kunai at Kiba. They looked like they were going to his, but while in the air they colided sending two of them to the ground and one of them towards Kiba's face. He just barely dodged it as it nicked his ear. He smirked
                          
"I thought you never missed" He said dropping back into a fighting stance. I smirked as I quickly glanced down at the ground next to him. It took him a minute for it to sink in. As he looked down to see Akamaru pinned down by a thin wire tied to the end of the two of my kunai that shot to the ground. The look of fear on his face was priceless as I teleported to Akamaru and picked him up teleporting back to the kunai I placed at my starting position. I held a kunai to the dogs throat as he dangled in my arms.
                          
"Akamaru" He yelled lunging towards his partner. I threateningly lifted my kunai closer to the dogs throat. Kiba looked panicked at first then laughed. He reached into his pocket pulling out something, and tossed it to the dog. Akamaru opened his mouth to catch it, but I caught it first. it was a food pill. This really pissed off Kiba as his face tightened into a scowl.
                          
"Let him go you little bastard" He growled.
                          
'I'm done' I thought as my eyes flashed red with nine tails chakra at Kiba. he didn't seem to notice as he was to worried about his partner. He felt that he was going to suprise me as he threw a hand full of kunai from behind his back.  I didn't hesitate to slit the dogs throat as they flew at me. I teleported out of the way back behind Kiba, and kicked him from behind as he was still shock from what I did. Once the kunai had implanted themselves into the brick wall I teleported back over to the dog. Kiba was on his knees crying. He glanced up at me and yelled something between sobs. I threw a kunai strait into the air and teleported the dog to it. I weaved some hand signs and sent a fireball flying towards the falling dog.
                          
'Thats enough' I thought releasing the genjutsu. Kiba fell to the ground panting with sweat dripping from his face with some tears mixed in there. I let the dog go as he ran over to his master and proceeded to pock at him until Kiba looked up. The tears vanished as Kiba now noticed that it was a genjutsu, but the fight was still not over. I teleported to the kunai that was still in the ground from when I grabbed Akamaru, and put my kunai to the back of Kiba's head.
                          
"I submit" He said hugging Akamaru.
                          
"The winner is Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze" the proctor said with most people whispering to each other wondering what happened. Kiba was still hugging Akamaru who now looked a little irritated that he was still hugging him. I helped him get up, and then looked him in his eyes. He was shocked to see a tear come down my face
                          
(I'm sorry) I said hugging him. It took a minute for the shock to go away until he pushed me off in an angry way. I was worried that he was mad until I saw a smile on his face
                          
"No big deal, but I won't fall for it next time" He vowed as he lightly punched me in the shoulder. I was still crying as he said this so his smile changed to a serious look
                          
"Come on man don't cry in front of the other villages they will think I'm a cry baby since I lost to you man up" He said putting up his hand for a fist bump. "Kill it in the next round" He said as I returned the fist bump.
                          
(I will) I said to him 'I need to win if I am ever going to beat that man' I thought as I walked off the battle field and into the stands
                          
-Some where close to the village
                          
*3rd POV
                          
"He is almost ready" a man in an orange mask said
                          
"Almost, but not quite we still need see how he uses the curse mark Orochimaru gave him" Itachi said
                          
"Why does he need his power the sharingan-" The orange masked man said
                          
"Isn't enough to beat that boy. The pain you caused his after failing to kill him the first time has only made him grow stronger quicker. Now with the nine tails he could grow to be unbeatable. This power will help him catch up a little think of it as a boost. Don't worry once he is ready the curse mark will go, and his ability to use his sharingan to it's full potential will grow" Itachi said finishing his rant (Sorry about that :P)
                          
"I hope your right" the man in the orange mask said standing up "He needs to be ready soon maybe you should help him along as we get closer to the finals" He said as he sunk through the ground
                          
"And remember what will happen if you fail Itachi" He said disappearing from sight
                          
"When have I ever been wrong" Ithachi said as his Mangekyō Sharingan flared over the village hidden in the leaves

oh my god I loved writing this chapter, and I'm sorry for all of the people who love Kiba and Akamaru I felt bad torturing them, but it felt so right. You get to see a little dark side of Naruto. Now to explain the genjutsu that Naruto cast. My belief is that for a genjutsu to work you either need to weave hand signs or use a medium such as your eyes. So Naruto used some of the nine tails chakra to create a medium. Sorry if this is not how a genjutsu actually works I do't remember them explaining it in the anime, and if it is great, and if not well deal with then I guess deal with it :P
